do Bhut Jolokia, then eat it.
They aren't even up to full height yet.
grow cotton #awwsnap
Strawberries
How does it work if you use hydroponics to grow something like potatoes/carrots which traditonally grow underground? Will they still grow in the water?
Hahaha nup. Apparently one crop of weed would bring in around one million dollars over three months.
If by crop you mean a single plant, then I find that very hard to believe. I had a weed plant, and you couldn't even harvest it within 3 months of planting. And I don't know how much weed sells for, but no way you get more than a couple thousand dollars for it.

One plant wouldn't bring much money at all, I don't know anything about weed but I'm assuming you could only get a few buds of a single plant.
Grow chamomile, fucking best thing ever.
peanuts [editline]15th March 2012[/editline] or potatoes
Grow Opium Poppies. Would be far more profitable than weed.

I believe you would have to use aeroponics to grow them. In aeroponics, instead of submersing the roots, they are misted.
Grow a redwood and eventually your house will become a treehouse.
peanuts
Grow onions or scallops?
Well, no place in Panama City sells net pots. Not home depot, lowes, walmart, or a local nursery. Have to order them online. [editline]15th March 2012[/editline] Finally found a store that has them. Going to pick some up later today or tomorrow. Then I'll have everything I need besides nutrients... which I will probably be able to pick up at the store. I already have my airpump and bucket.
Grow some damn blueberries. Looks delicious, right? Right.

Would be cool if you could give growing mushrooms a shot. Altough that means you would need mushroom spores and something for the mushroom to grow in.
grow tea, seriously make your own blends and sell them to people.
Found the net pots I needed! Now all I need is growth medium (which is easy to get), nutrients, and the light! Will be ordering by the end of this week! I got my buckets, my air stones, air pump, and tubing!
What are you going to be growing?
I think I've decided on jalapenos and banana peppers. Make some delicious nachos and sandwiches!
Tobacco, since everybody likes a good cigar.
I think I've decided on jalapenos and banana peppers. Make some delicious nachos and sandwiches!
Freaking YUM, good choice!
Im interested in doing something like this.
Use it as a bath.
How much would a basic set up for this sort of thing cost?
I think I've decided on jalapenos and banana peppers. Make some delicious nachos and sandwiches!
Why not grow something stronger like habaneros?
One plant wouldn't bring much money at all, I don't know anything about weed but I'm assuming you could only get a few buds of a single plant.
If you're bad at growing, an outdoor plant will most likely have between .5 - 2 pounds of usable weed (after trimming and stuff). If you're good at it, and know what you're doing, 6 (or maybe even more?) pounds is possible. Depending on where you live, you can sell that anywhere from $800 - $2500 or so, per pound. Since weed growing has become more popular, prices have been driven down. There's just too much weed out there, so prices in my area are down to about $1500 per pound. $1500 x 6 = $9000 Then, if you live in california, and you have a prescription, you can grow 6 mature plants. $9000 x 6 = $54000 If you're growing on multiple prescriptions (people can give you their prescription to grow for them), that's 6 per script. Imagine you have enough space and supplies for, say, 4 people. $54000 x 4 = $216000 This all assumes the following: • You're good at growing • All your plants grow equally, and none have any problems, or die • No one finds out where you're growing, and steals branches off your plant during harvest season • You have a good selling connection • Your runners (people who drive across the country to get better profit for weed, since california sucks for it now) don't get caught • You're good at selling
How much would a basic set up for this sort of thing cost?
It depends on the type of lights you use. The cheapest would be florescent lights, the most expensive would be LED. It depends on the size, but something small, maybe $50-100 when you add up the lights and nutrients and small equipment, assuming you use florescent lights. LED lights can cost 100+ alone, but people often argue they pay for themselves as they use less energy and don't harm you plants (hotter lights can burn leaves if they get too close).
