Just squeezing character out of animations like that is amazing.
Kind of a small one. In Project Gotham Racing 3 if you crash your car into a barrier near spectators, the spectators will actually stumble backwards, as opposed to pretty much every other racing game where the spectators are lifeless sprites.
[sp]this one is less of a detail thing but more of a neat reference[/sp]
In the intro of Skyrim, the soldier who is in the cart with you, Ralof mentions about a girl who makes mead with Juniper Berries mixed in. At one point later on, you have to jump into a building from a tower. If you go back after the intro, into the same building you jumped into, you can find bottles of mead named "Mead with Juniper Berry".

In stalker shadow of chernobyl, dogs will look for corpses and usually drag them back to a confined place full of other dogs. This includes you
Just discovered this one moments ago, again from Skyrim. If you ignore the main quest and go straight to side stuff like literally everyone because the MQ is garbage, and go through the Dawnguard quests, you encounter a dragon in the Soul Cairn named Durnehviir, who honor-names you Qahnariin or something to that effect after you defeat him.
This changes the dialog, if you ask him about the name, he mentions that it's a title bestowed upon a dragon by a bested fellow. Since you've not done the main quest and aren't officially Dragonborn yet, you can reply that you aren't a dragon and he'll state that he gave you the name on instinct, without a reason or knowledge as to why, and that you might discover a reason soon enough. Pretty nice little detail.
I am currently addicted to Black and White 2 and its full of little things that i enjoy.
- If you place down markets such as pot, plant and statue markets the people will purchase those and put them around their houses that makes it all look a lot more alive.
- You can play catch ball with your creature.
- If your camera stays away from your Creature long enough, he might try to get in your view for attention.
- You can actually murder kids in this game the most brutal way, which is something you don't see every day.
- Either being really evil or good, the world around you and your creature changes. If you are evil your hands starts to grow long nails, people will look afraid darkness surrounds whenever your god hand is and with your creature if he is in good nature then he will leave a trail of flowers

For a second there I though you were speaking about the Pokemon games :v:
In the intro mission of Dishonored you pass sokolov painting a portrait of High overseer Campbell, a portrait that will be a collectible later in the game. In the composition there's a bottle of cider on the table, and if you drink it, the cider will be missing from the painting later in the game.

Also the songs they got in both games are hilarious

As a kid, I always liked how Link in OoT would sneeze if it was cold and would clean the sweat of his forehead if it was hot.
Same goes for him in Skyward Sword if he stays sitting in one place for too long, he would snooze for a bit until he started leaning too much and wake up in shock.
Now with Breath of the Wild, I can't wait to find what else they gave Link.
In Doom 2016, shots from the Combat Shotgun will leave holes as with any proper gun - but those from the more powerful Super Shotgun will actually briefly glow red hot.
In Alien Isolation there is a scripted death, where the doctor behind the glass walks into the other door and gets picked by the Alien. If you didn't already expect him to get killed, you can use your detector and it will show you that the Alien was behind that door for the whole scene.

Speaking of Black and White (1&2). The game has a big list of names that will be spoken out at random times if your name matches one on there. (It sounds almost the same way as how "Death" is spoken, so pretty creepy).
I thought I was going mad the first time I heard my name being whispered to me in B&W/B&W2.

This part in HL2. Just this little out of the way dead end, but it's incredibly tranquil yet sad scene once you've cleared out the baddies. I can't recall any other part where the wind chimes were used either.

i only just caught this when looking through some of my older videos, but in sleeping dogs if you manage to wedge your car in a way that prevents the doors from opening, wei will kick out the windshield and crawl out though there.

I haven't played the Witcher series, but doesn't Michael Cera make cameo appearances in it?

Looking out of place as is typical of Michael Cera
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is full of small details, not even counting different terminals/pocket secretaries that provide even more backstory. In the second mission if you visit women's bathroom and then go to Pritchard he will tell you that your augmentations does not change your sex so you should stay away from ladies room. Also later in the game Adam will start to experience HUD glitches, you can remove that by visiting a clinic. If you do that, [sp]later in the game one of the bosses will disable ALL your abilities because you now have a chip inside you that he can control.[/sp]

There's also the bit on the playground towards the beginning of the game where you can hear children playing.
Woah hey it's time for another Skyrim one! Who saw that coming. During the opening scene, the captured Ulfric Stormcloak has a gag on, the only one in fact. Later, you find out he used the Thu'um against High King Torygg, kicking off the rebellion. Then you realize they gagged him so he wouldn't use Shouts to escape capture. I remember realizing it when Skyrim came out and just yelling "OOOOHHHHH I GET IT NOW"

I dont know if i would call that a great attention to detail; without the gag a severe plothole would've been introduced. The gag is just common sense.
Starting with Fire Emblem Awakening, going into a battle in Fire Emblem smoothly transitions the music from its usually peaceful field music into the more hyped, upbeat battle music that's a remix of the field music. Of course, there's tons more examples than what I've listed.
Similarly, in The Binding of Isaac Rebirth, whenever you enter a room with more than 5 enemies, the floor music gets another layer of instruments added, in this case a kickass electronic guitar.
I like dynamic music done well in video games.

Five to ten years ago i would have agreed with you, but i've no doubt in my mind that it's a small detail or common sense we wouldn't see as often now.
Metal Gear Solid V has a birthday scene for Snake if you play it on your chosen birthday and return to Mother Base.

I believe Jak 2+3 had a similar thing going depending on what stance you were in.
If you were just normal and transitioning from one area to the other the music is normal violins and strings in the city and whatever else for the other levels.
If you had your weapon out it I believe gave the song a slight electric guitar undertone.
if you were on your jetboard it added an additional beat.
If you were in a vehicle it added the beat and some extra precussions to give a more 'heroic' feel.
the amount of enemies around you also influenced the music too
if its like 3 enemies and less it had the normal battle track tacked on top of the level theme
if it was like 5 enemies or more it added loud and sharp violin strings to give that tensed feeling
In MGSV, your horse can poop and if vehicles drive over it, they fall
MGS V has so many.
If you use diarrhea sounds on loud volume inside a toilet, enemies will slowly walk away from it.
If you shoot a power pole it eventually electrocutes an enemy with its cable. Enemies will act as if it was an accident and won't search for Snake.
In GTA:V when you tip the strippers enough, you get their phone number.
It's like Rockstar read my mind about women.
In Cryostasis, your viewmodel and hud will have frost buildup in cold rooms.
When you go outside the ship it becomes snow buildup.
When a room becomes warm the frost melts from both your viewmodel and the room itself.

Oh, that reminds me of Republic Commando; the screen would crack if you took a lot of damage, you'd get oil splatters on your visor if you melee killed a droid, and green blood spatters if you knifed a Trandoshan.

They put a lot of effort into making the HUD feel like a helmet, it was super immersive with the way the y integrated the shields and health bars into the visor, a lot like the Metroid Prime HUD. It was one of the games that made me love first person viewpoints.
