That's gotta be a tabby. See the "M" on it's head?
I've got a cat with that same color, and another that's pretty much just white, both tabby cats.
Or a Maine Coon

He/she probably knows to beg for food, and you're just one of the people it begged from that took a liking to it and fed him/her, so now he/she likes you the most
(you should prolly tell us its gender)
Did you feed it anything?
If it warmed up to you so quickly there is a chance it may be either a lost pet or someone lets it out at night. There are a bunch of cats around my neighborhood and quite a few of them are ones people let out at night and therefore are not skittish around people.
i have no idea how to check for its gender. I'm a little scared of picking it up since it might bite me or something. It also swiped at my arm and cut it a little bit while i was playing with it using a blade of grass i dont know if i should get checked out for cat scratch or anything either
[editline]22nd January 2014[/editline]
i fed it vienna sausages (i had nothing else on the spot)

You should always clean cat scratches. Cat scratch fever is nasty shit.

i did rub the area with hand sanitizer is that good enough

I dunno. In general it's always a good idea to clean cuts. I assume it wasn't deep, just a playful cut, so that should be fine.
my cats basically always gore my hands and a bit of a wash with soap seems to do the trick. unless I already got cat scratch fever and am dead
Oh god he's so cute, I'd take him in as a pet if I were you
is cat cat
It has selected you, prepare yourself..
My grandparents had a stray come up to them once, I think while I was in middle school. That would be probably seven years ago? He still lives with them.

He's the best. If you pat him very quickly on his hind leg, his ears will perk up and he will tense up and when you stop he'll shoot off after whatever toy you put in front of him, and get really rowdy. It's like we're winding him up or something.
expected that cat

I know that feel
You should take it in, and bring it to a vet and such.
It kinda hurts that it just sits outside waiting for you.
If you can manage to take a look at it's asshole, you'll be able to see it's balls right below. If it just looks like a regular patch of fur down there, it's a girl, otherwise, obviously, it's a dude if it has junk. Also, I'd definitely wash out that cut no matter how deep it is, cause even shallow scratches can puff up and get irritable.
Was expecting [url=http://www.wildjackcasino.com/files/wj/images/hilarious%20internet%20meme%20of%20cat%20found%20poster%20that%20is%20raccoon%20or%20some%20animal.jpg]this[/url].
Anyways, if the cat has no collar and you're considering adopting, go to a vet. Some owners choose not to put collars on their outdoor cats and instead just use the standard subdermal microchip, which the vet can check for. That's also leaving aside the usual illness tests that you'd definitely want before bringing the cat into your home.
I do to want to bring it in but my mom and step-dad don't like any pets. I'll just see if I can make a little house for it outside or something. How much should the vet cost? If it keeps coming regularly I think I'll bring it to the vet and get it checked out for anything. Meanwhile I been feeding it regularly with canned cat food.
And thanks for the tips I checked and it is a female. I'm also bit scared of taking it to the vet if it had another owner who would flip out if their cat suddenly went missing for a day I'm not even sure if it's anyone's or anything
[editline]23rd January 2014[/editline]
is cat scratch disease that serious cause fuck I am scared
It's very unlikely to happen unless it's a really deep cut, you're fine.
Take it to the vet, they can find and contact the owner if there is one, treat it if it's been in the wild for things like ticks, fleas, and worms. It's for the best.
I highly recommend raising him to become a Jedi Master.
It's the only way to save this planet.
