It was a pretty cool movie. I like it. But the idea that fear brought peace is just unrealistic and not a very good message.

I'd say that this is the second best Michael Moore film adaptions.
what the fuck?
ALAN Moore, dude. ALAN. Micheal Moore is the fat guy who makes documentaries.

It's still widely considered as a graphic novel and not a comic book.
Hell, it's even called a graphic novel on the back of the book.
I've never read the comic (been meaning to buy it, but I'm broke as shit atm), but I fucking loved the movie. Easily my favorite superhero movie.
I honestly thought it was very over-rated. The action scenes were so overdone. And the choices in music just pissed me off. I didn't like the characters either. And I fucking hate it when movies do the whole pretentious, shallow philosophy thing. I absolutely dreaded having to hear Dr. Manhattan drone on about humanity again. It wasn't really a terrible movie, but it was/is so damn over-hyped.
I have to say, I did not like the comic's ending that much, for some reason it just felt out of a place, and it would not have translated well on the big screen.
I need to watch this movie again.
Ending was disappointing, though.
Rented it on XBox Live as soon as it came out on there, loved it.

there's not much of a difference between a Comic Book and a Graphic Novel. a Graphic Novel is basically a collection of Comic Books in one package, with each "issue" being renamed a "chapter". other than that there's no difference.
Blue Penis.......2 1/2 hours of it.
I hope someone stabs you and plays around in your blood one day. I hate people that have the point out the whole blue penis thing, who fucking cares.
I thought it was a great adaptation, friends that haven't read the graphic novel have said it was "alright".
To appreciate it fully, you need to have read the graphic novel, but on the flip side, if you've read the graphic novel, you might have been disappointed by the changed ending.
I forgave the changes and loved it.
I very much enjoyed the graphic novel and I really liked this film. The changes really didn't bother me at all. It still delivered a quality story with great acting and awesome CG.
I've got it and I want to watch it but I'm always intimidated by how long it is. That's some serious time investment. I just keep putting it off.
I decided to watch it. Didn't like it. Now bored to the point of being depressed. Pissed off that I spent two and a half hours on it. Know that FP is about to tell me I'm stupid for not 'getting' it.
Ozy was too fucking evil looking/sounding throughout the whole movie. They needed someone good hearted and not suspicious at all.
Honestly, I still think Will Ferrell could have done it best. He could even look the part.

This. "lol grose penis in movie lol that is gay im not watching tis shit lol xD". Seriously, if people pay attention to the penis, then no wonder they don't understand the plot.

true, though it didn't really help when the film makers decided to make the penis BIGGER than it was in the comics. in the comics, it was an average size. in the movie, it was like a frikkin' python. it's like they WANTED you to notice the fact that he had a penis.
It was practically the same as the comic. The new ending is either better or worse dependingon how you look at it. The camic does have some nice exposition, though, and some fairly superfluous story elements, which were cut from the film.
Has anyone watched the 3 hours version? Is it any better then the original?
Way to long

There are a few really cool scenes added that weren't in the theatrical cut, but it's pretty much the same.

When I heard about the movie I had a feeling that Dr. Manhattan would be my favorite character, but he turned out to be such a boring character in my opinion.
I don't get the world peace ending. World peace doesn't work, and everybody knows that.
I don't get the world peace ending. World peace doesn't work, and everybody knows that.
it wasn't really world peace. it was more like "let's band together and focus our attention on the greater of two evils."
but your worldview is really morbid, I'll tell ya that much...
Woah, the smiley crater on Mars is real?
Saw the movie and then comic, both were great but you really have to read the comic if you have only watched the movie. The movie merely touched the surface while the comic expanded everything and seemed much more fulfilling.
Even if you don't like the plot, there is no denying the fuck-awesome special effects.
And Rorschach's badassness
Him and The Comedian were the only characters I gave a shit about.
Good movie, but a few things:
1. Ozymandias looked WAY too young, and it felt a lot more predictable for him to be the bad guy, unlike the graphic novel, in which it was much less implied.
2. Hollis Mason's death. WHY did they cut that out of the original cut? Best scene in the movie, but it kinda felt ruined when they cut the music, although I guess that made it more realistic.
3. The speech on Mars felt a little rushed. Can't pin point what it was that did so, but it felt a lot less epic than the graphic novel version (redeemed by Jimi Hendrix though).

of course the only character that never wears pants would be your favorite.
I really liked the Comedian, Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan, in that order.
Because of the Comedian I'm now wearing his button on my backpack:

:smug:
Read the Graphic Novel after seeing the first commercial with the Dark Knight.
The adaptation was pretty good, but it's not one of my favorites.
