For some reason I've liked everything Joss Whedon has ever created/produced/been involved with.
FireFly was no exception, for months after I watched the first season I would catch my self humming the theme.

It has an awesome theme as well.
NBC did the exact same thing with Clerks: The Animated series. I can never understand why they TV broadcasting stations do stuff like that. Thanks for reminding me about Sliders, I need to go dig up some of my old VHS's and watch a few episodes. I liked Sliders :(
Not to be getting off topic, but netflix has a thing called Roku that lets your stream stuff from netflix website straight to your TV, and it has all of Sliders on it. I've been watching a fair amount recently.

Thank you! I've been trying to find it somewhere to see if I'll actually like it or not. I like the premise.
Just finished Serenity (pilot, not the movie). Goddamn I miss this show.

It really is a shame that that damn writer will not restart the series, it has such a huge fan base now. I'm sure it would be very successful, however i think he is just doing it to make movies now. Cause i believe another serenity movie is being made. I'm not sure. I remember them saying something about a new movie.
I only saw Serenity, but it was still great even though I didn't get some of it. I need to get the DVDs of the TV episodes some time.

I don't know how that works. Does Jos Whedon get a cut of DVD sales or does FOX suck that dry?
The FCC ordered FOX to take it off the air because it was exceeding maximum allowed levels of awesome.
Plus they had to make room for such wonderful programming like Temptation Island and more Simpson's reruns. :rolleye:

I think you might be able to get it at Best buy or Ebay. I've seen the box set on sale for 30-40 bucks.

I've seen how people froth at the mouth for those fucking reality shows. Pisses me off. My wife and her mother watch Big Brother religiously, as well as my own parents. What the fuck happens in that show that didn't happen last season, or last episode for that matter?
Fuck.
This is a fucking fantastic show. I'll never be able to understand why Fox would cancel something so wonderfully written, that had potential to carry on for many, many more seasons. They made a big mistake, in my opinion.
They aired it out of order, changed the day and time of air more than once, aired the pilot episode last and generally dicked around with everything possible. When it got bad ratings because of the utter confusion it was canceled.
Same thing happened with Drive and Arrested Development.

Joss gets a percentage of the TV DVD sales while Fox maintains the rights to a Firefly Television show, while Universal owns the rights to the movie and its DVD sales, with more cuts going to Joss.
The reason the show was never renewed is because Fox had to pull their "THIS IS MINE" bullshit with the TV rights, despite the fact that they made it very clear that they never intended to release another DVD set, let alone make another season, and Joss made it very clear that he wouldn't be working with them again.

Whedon tried to renew the show years ago. Fox refused to hand over the rights.
Same reason Deadwood never got finished: People got greeedy.

It is a real shame. I mean fox airs shit far worse, but yet they don't want to give the rights back to the man who created the show to better it.
I didn't like Serenity very much.

Of course, I already own Firefly and Serenity. I was wondering if Jos got a cut, and if he gets a cut of any future sales on the series, after all that bullshit with FUX. I know he got his share from the movie. The reason I'm asking if because I think everyone should go out and buy the movie and the series, give Jos a little more money so he can keep making quality entertainment.

I didn't like the movie Saving Private Ryan.

Hey, they lost a viewer. I'll never watch anything on FOX again except for a split second when I pass over their channel to something better.
"Also...I can kill you with my brain"
I totally believed her in Objects in Space too
Out of Gas, is, in my opinion, quite possibly the best Firefly episode
Yes the flashbacks in that episode were pretty good and I liked the origin stories.

Yeah i got to go out and get the box set. I really do.
The writer of the show said that he doesn't want to make more episodes, even if fox paid for a new season. Which is a massive nut cracker as this is the best show i've ever watched, i loved every single episode aswell as the movie.
Joss Whedon never said that, in fact he said he'd even think about taking the show to internet episodes after the success of Dr. Horrible. He said that he'd never give up hope for Firefly.
I was the same way with Lost... I heard of it, but never watched a single episode of it Until season 4 was about to air, So I decided Meh, I'll watch the first episode and shrug it off thinking what a dumb show
*Suck Noise Here* I got sucked in... But When I started watching season 3, after the second episode I said wow, fuck this, and haven't seen an episode since, I did like the first two seasons though, the second not as much as the first
Of course, the benefits of watching something that spans a few years like this, is when a main character dies, it has a bigger impact than a Movie that only lasts 2 hours would

Really? Please share the source.
Come on, you got us waiting, post a source.
I picked up Serenity (DVD) for.. £2.99!!! in Woolworths.. best fucking purchase ever.. apart from my collectors edition of Pulpfiction, ofcourse.
A friend told me about Firefly after I watched Serenity and told him how awesome it was, and I was hooked after the first episode of Firefly.
Shit's addictive, Fox canceled it because of that man. :(
I WANT MY FIX OF FIREFLY !!

Oh the suspense it is building.
I'm used to false hopes by now. I demand hard sources.
I thought Serenity was a crappy movie.
And if you think SG-1 is a good show, you need to watch more television because Stargate is down at the bottom of my list of things worth watching. Like, at the point that I don't watch them because they suck.
And if you think SG-1 is a good show, you need to watch more television because I don't watch them because they suck.
I don't watch SG, but you sound pretty arrogant.
The show doesn't involve divorce or backstabbing friends, or affairs. The show has no negativity that affects young people but involves positive influence. Those fucktards.

you might not like it, but it isn't a shitty show.
Your statement is pretty ignorant.
If this show sucks so bad, why does it have 10 Seasons, 214 episodes, and two movies made after it.
It is also know as one of the most popular tv shows ever made. And it still is running with more and more new episodes coming out. You might not like it, but a majority of the population does.

Stargate SG-1 was also the longest running Sci-Fi show in America (Don't say Star Trek is, because Star Trek is a franchise not a single series)
