I thought Serenity was a crappy movie. And if you think SG-1 is a good show, you need to watch more television because Stargate is down at the bottom of my list of things worth watching. Like, at the point that I don't watch them because they suck.
Well I thought it so good I watched the entire series on DVD over the course of like 5 months. Oh well different strokes.

Funny that you post that. The woman that plays River. She plays in the terminator tv series
I was surprised to see an ad where an innocent person falls to death from a helicopter. Just seemed sort of weird for a commercial.
The cop didn't die, he just jumped out. He wasn't that high in the air when he fell.
I'm pretty sure they were up in the air, and you can hear him scream as he goes out the door.
In his situation I'd scream, too, no matter how far I were about to fall. "Holy shit, HOLY SHIT a liquid cop just poured into my helicopter!"
This show didn't make enough money so they had to stop it.
everything in the world is about money this show didn't make enough money so they had to stop it. The problem was there were to types of people: The lovers of this show and the people who never watched it. because there weren't enough lovers they didn't make enough money and had to cancel it.
Well, I never watched it because I had no idea when it was on or what it was about. All I heard was "space western" and I don't particularly like westerns, aside from The Quick and the Dead and 3:10 to Yuma. I should have taken more interest in it considering it was a Jos Whedon project. I learned my lesson. From now on, anything Jos makes, I'm seeing. Bring on the nerd rage. I don't like Stargate or Battlestar Galactica. I was really apprehensive when watching Firefly for the first time because I was worried that it would be one of those shows. SG-1 and BSG both strike me as nauseously cheesy. They take themselves so seriously but I'm always left entirely unconvinced. Firefly, despite its setting, has such believable characters that it really sucks you in. Even though the "space cowboys" theme is sometimes taken a little too literally (like in the episode with the brothel), Wheton somehow makes it work. And Serenity wasn't that great. I liked it since I had already watched all the episodes and was starving for more but I don't think that someone unfamiliar with the show would understand where it's coming from.

Stargate is cheesy, yeah, but the new Battlestar Galactica? The Pegasus crew RAPES their prisoners, for Christ's sakes. They fucking showed the guy getting ready to stick it to a cylon chick when he thereafter gets his skull bashed in against a wall. It is AWESOME.
Well, a lot of people came to Firefly after Serenity, so I don't think that bits true.
I did. Bought it for 7 bucks while on vacation.
I bought serenity when it first came out, it was like 20-22 bucks or so. One of the best movies i bought.
Joss Whedon never said that, in fact he said he'd even think about taking the show to internet episodes after the success of Dr. Horrible. He said that he'd never give up hope for Firefly.

Did he really? Sauce on that?

REALLY! Source?

Really? Please share the source.
What happened to Bujjick, I don' think it's true.
What happened to Bujjick, I don' think it's true.
Damn, and i was really looking forward to seeing that source too.
Sorry folks, forgot about the thread, I'm gonna try and find the article i read a few weeks ago. Edit: http://io9.com/5029327/dr-horribles-singalong-panel-at-comic+con-yes-there-will-be-more-horrible
Would Whedon do online episodes set in the Firefly 'verse again? Yes, says Whedon . . . it would make dozens and dozens of dollars. Fillion notes that it would be great because Whedon has already killed off all the characters he doesn't like working with. And he put on a cute Captain Mal accent for us. Nice.

As for the future of Whedon production? He's clearly very into the Web as an alternative. He said, "Things are changing, and Dr. Horrible is about that putting power in different hands . . . the wrong hands."
And I can truthfully say that I have read more instances where he said he'd never give up on firefly, and would continue it as long as he's allowed. In fact I think he said it a bunch of times on the Firefly and Serenity DVD's
Interesting, i really liked Wash,
Heh, I think my stupid mistake tagging the quote fucked up your post a bit, sorry about that

Thanks Bujjick, this is awesome
The Fox Network is synonymous to a giant hand flipping the bird to America. True Fact. Look what they did to :foxnews:
The Fox Network is synonymous to a giant hand flipping the bird to America. True Fact. Look what they did to :foxnews:
Fox doesn't have any idea what they're doing, they canceled Family Guy for a while, Futurama as well, and both of those are back and doing quite well. They also canceled Arrested Development, on of the smartest comedies ever, while they're still running American Idol and all that crap. If Firefly started on a different network, in all likelihood it would still be on tv.

But it wasn't a bad show all in all. But yeah, there only airing shit that will whore ratings in.
Fox targets the larger, dumber demographic. That's why all the good shows get canned.
Fox airing the episodes out of order didn't help either.
It was canceled because Fox does not have any good programming what isn't the Simpsons
Fixed :)
Fox airing the episodes out of order didn't help either.
Yeah, i don't get how you manage to fuck that up.
SG-1 and BSG both strike me as nauseously cheesy.
Possible troll is possible. SG-1 and especially Atlantis I admit do get a little cheesy and use a lot of deus-ex machina. But BSG is the most realistic and gritty, in terms of the characters, sci-fi show I've ever seen. Did you even see the BSG pilot episode? Most pilots are nice and clean. But everyone was tired as hell (some actually were up for a couple days straight and weren't faking it) and was probably the darkest pilot episode ever. But like I said different strokes. Although I don't think you paid enough attention or watched enough of it to appreciate the quality of it. Then again people say Pride and Prejudice is the greatest novel ever and I think it's boring as hell and chock full of arrogant pretentious idiots.
"Also...I can kill you with my brain" I totally believed her in Objects in Space too Out of Gas, is, in my opinion, quite possibly the best Firefly episode
You and I have had this discussion before :v: I didn't like the last episode. The whole 'ship speaking' thing really got to me. I'm really disheartened they never followed through with this show. It's probably one of the only TV shows I actually like/own on dvd.
