I really didn't like the last episode (Objects in Space) - The ship speaking thing was really quite odd.
I'm really disheartened they never followed through with this show. It's probably one of the only TV shows I actually like/own on dvd.
The good shows die young where as shit holds on.
Good shows: Firefly, Battlestar Galactica TOS. They died in their first season.
Bad shows: Survivor, Big Brother, American Frakking Idol, Friends. How many iterations have these gone through?
I saw Serenity last night. I fucking loved it!

I actually thought it worked quite well and fitted into the feeling of isolation River felt.
I love the whole speech.
At that point the crew had no idea what River was fully capable of and it shows her intellegence (which Simon always alluded to) at being able not only to fool the crew but by proxy a complete stranger on top of outwitting Jubal.
I'm the FireFly!

Yeah it was a very good episode.
Yeah like throughout the episodes it shows river as this helpless young woman, that is empty and such. Then she begins out smarting everyone, and becoming this deadly weapon.

You do her speech no justice at all.
You're wrong, Early. Wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave, so she melted. Melted away. They didn't know she could do that..but she did. I'm not on the ship. I'm in the ship. I am the ship. River's gone. You're talking to Serenity. And Early... Serenity is very unhappy.
Of course, even text doesn't do it justice fully.
I think this is the longest running firefly thread facepunch has ever had.
:crying: So there was a show that was like star gate sg1 but i never got to see it! :crying: I loved stargate.

Well, someone in the first page said it was.
The Gag reel on the Firefly DVD is fucking awesome too.
This topic prompted me to finally seek out and watch every episode of this series.
Thank you.
guys they can't bring it back because [sp]they killed off like a bunch of main characters in Serenity[/sp]
[sp]Only Wash. I can't recall anyone else...[/sp]
[sp]Only Wash. I can't recall anyone else...[/sp]
[sp]Book too[/sp]
I'm sure if it restarted, the Browncoats would easily be willing to overlook what happened in the movie to have those characters back.
I'm pretty sure he would start the series again at a time pre-movie.
I'm going to jump of the love for the underdog bandwagon and say that i really despised this show. It was like a romp through a sub-par sci-fi type show but in all honesty if it didn't take place in space the events would still be fairly feasible. For me it wasn't really fantasy in any form.

It really wasn't suppose too be a Fantasy show from what i know. It was your basic sci-fi concept, however they mixed it up to make it reflect on our lives as well. They go though struggles such as we do, and it was mixed with a futuristic/wild west theme.
The events are feasible in my eyes. They have planets that are low down dirt cheap, then they have alliance planets that are high society, futuristic looking. And it had everything between.
The post sort of confuses me.

It was a romp through a show? And why did you believe it to be sub-par?

Is that a bad thing? What is the problem with feasibility?
For me it wasn't really fantasy in any form.
It was too real? What are you saying?
Yeah i really didn't understand what he was saying too.

You know that Alan Tudyk (played Wash in Firefly) is in that movie, right? As the doctor :D
Anyways, yes, I agree that the cancellation of this show was a horrible mistake, but there's really nothing we can do.
Oh, and the guy who played Jayne is in Hal-Life 2 Episode 2 :v:

Yeah I remember recognising him.

One of the the Two Rebels that follow you around, you first meet them at the antlion bit, where you defend Alyx.
Haha, that is pretty cool.
I think some of what made Firefly so awesome was that it was over before it became trivial. I really enjoyed the show, and plan on re-watching it all again soon, but I doubt they'd be able to keep the same standard all the way through, had they extended it by another season, or more.
It was short but sweet and one of the best shows I've ever watched. I'd like to keep it that way.

I think it would have been best if they had like another season and actually answered questions at the end, especially about Book and Inara. I want closure, dammit. The movie did alright for closure, answered a lot about River, but not good enough for Inara and Book's storylines.

Was it in the show's gag reel were they all had the mustaches on?
Anyways in the words of a great man, any hint of a new show is probably a, TRAAAP! Or at least for a while anyways.

It would be nice, but I still think a full season is too much for that. I really wanted to know more about Book, especially about how he knew so much about weaponry. They kept bringing it up, so they must've had something awesome in mind.
