This is a fucking fantastic show. I'll never be able to understand why Fox would cancel something so wonderfully written, that had potential to carry on for many, many more seasons. They made a big mistake, in my opinion.
Cause they're a bunch of fucking douchebags.
I kinda wish they'd bring back most of Joss Whedon's shows. That and Wonderfalls. I miss that show.
I actually just watched firefly a few weeks ago. It was the single greatest thing I had ever seen. Plus Kaylee (IT'S NOT JEWEL GODDAMMIT) is cute. I finally understood why people were so pissed it was cancelled.
All of the Firefly crew need more work, especially Kaylee and Nathan Fillion.
cancelled because fox needs MORE REALITY SHOWS AND SHITTY RE RUNS OF SHOWS THAT DIED 10 YEARS AGO
I like joss whedon new show dollhouse

Unless he comes up with something better (which I hope will happen), I think Firefly is gonna end up being remembered as Whedon's opus for his career.
Anybody else think that the movie did the series a huge injustice?
I did not like it one bit.

Well seeing as you bumped my wonderful thread.
Somewhat, but they had do to something about the characters.
Also for people who wish to enjoy the series for FREE.

It also has the movie. Just search up "serenity"
No, I fucking LOVED the movie.

I don't think that the move was as good as the series, but it was alright.
Pissed they kill off Wash (WHY GOD WHY?!) and Book in Serenity, we'll likely never find out why Book seemed to get preferential treatment from the Alliance during the episode where Simon and River get kidnapped by the mountain folks.
Book has an interesting past, and now he's dead.
But yeah, I'm a long term Firefly fan, I hate fox for cancelling it.

Dollhouse is getting interesting, but it didn't immediately suck me in like firefly did.
I didn't realise there were so few episodes.
The executives at Fox really don't care about what's good TV or not, they're fine with pumping out shitty game shows, which unfortunately do bring the fans. Firefly and Serenity were great, and I don't know why Sci-Fi doesn't try to get the creators to make more episodes for their channel.
The fact that there's a movie, which sorta limits the possibilities for a new series, is also Fox' fault for canceling the show after ep. 11.
Fuck Fox, call the movie non-canon and put the series back on, damn it. If the fanbase is still around SEVEN years after the last episode, they're gonna be willing to watch the series if it goes on!
I generally don't like American sci-fi and this looks the same.
This series had way to many sex scenes.
But they apprently canceled it because the main character was a way bad actor.

In other words, they couldn't find a real reason so they made one up? Mal was excellently put down as a persona, you could tell how much shit he carried with him wherever he went, ...
firefly was probably the most original sci-fi show there was.

Yeah i know, fox is a fucking cockeating shit.
I just realised I watched the title sequence on every episode, it was just such a pleasure to watch.
I just saw serenity... nothing special. Was good, though.

Nathan Fillion was the best actor in the show. He's awesome.
Looks gay as fuck
I've never seen why people rave over Joss Whedon's shit. I've hated every fucking thing he ever created, especially Buffy. Goddamn that's a horribly shit show.
Shit me. This thread is overflowing with people in brown. p:
Plenty of angry fans and disappointed new viewers, but even with the uproar that the Brown coats caused before, the best they managed was getting Serenity thrown out there.
Admittedly we all love it, I'm a huge fan, possessing the film and series on DVD but hell, but do you really see it getting done? diehard fans would miss Wash masses, seriously- the guy is funny as fuck when he has his moments. They could try to work around Serenity and say it's in the future perhaps, filling in the gap in between with the new series- but it's unlikely. They'd most likely just base it afterwards with a (hopefully) equally quirky bloke.
I for one would love to see it come back to life, Fox are a bunch of proper cunts that need punting in sensitive areas- they basically killed Firefly with the way they aired it, perhaps if the rights were bought out and it was remade by someone else we could see happy magical things happen but in all likelyhood, all we can do is bitch about how Fox are right slags.
Serenity the movie takes place 8 months after Serenity the pilot episode.
Lack of Profit.
Serenity cost $39 million. It made $38.8 million.
