I'm not going to be the guy that denies you can produce synthetic life but that's the thing, it's synthetic life. How did life begin? The prevailing non-religious theory is lightning striking something (I can't remember what, some chain of chemicals maybe?) and turning a non-living compound into a suddenly alive single cell. That single, (as far as I know) nonliving-by-scientific-definition cell eventually evolved into a self-aware incredibly complex (some would argue designed) organism with millions of tiny little chemical strings that act as instructions, systems built for energy collection, senses, and interaction, and all the other nuances that make up living things. Why are we so incredibly sophisticated we've managed to leave the planet altogether, when fish can't properly feel pain and flies live for a day? Why aren't we all bears or lions, they're much stronger than humans and can survive in more extremes. Why did we develop nervous systems and body structers, why aren't we just non-aware gelly blobs? I just don't think you can chalk it up to chance, to me it doesn't just seem astronomical, it seems impossible that us walking, thinking beings formed from a tremendous explosion of dust and metal.
tl;drs defeat the purpose of conversation. Read it or ignore it, but don't block it out and try to argue the point.

I believe in Evolution, by the way, I just don't see how it couldn't have been guided.

My philosophy teacher was christian and she was pretty cool. She used to argue with her priest about religion all the time. She believes the bible has some good lessons, but she doesn't take it literally. She campaigns for feminism and equal rights for women in the church and shit like that.
I think this is the case for a lot of christians. Not the feminism but not actually genuinely believing God created the world in seven days either.

You aren't supposed to take all of it literally, a lot of atheists try to misquote the bible (or the Old Testament like Mr. Scorpio) and say the bible says bestiality is okay or you should have sex with your neighbors. If you're going to debate something you really ought to know what you're debating.

Then again, you should KNOW who is misquoting it. I really doubt a "lot" of atheists have ever done this.

most atheists were christian and i dont think we ever said that we said that the bible says slavery was ok (which they say it was) and killing people that think differently (which it does) also the bible was made to be taken literally. thats why the story was called facts.

Not the New Testament though.
Most Christians who aren't blood thirty radicals don't follow the Old Testament.

Everything has a creator right? It doesn't make sense for something to just come out of nothing. The only thing about that is how was God created? How was anything created?

well the bible says it should be taken srsly and the old testament is part of it. you cant just say that it doesnt say that because they are both part of the belief system

i have an idea you could say i dont know how the universe was created and then study and find out how it was and if they dont have an answer then you still dont know. thats the hardest thing for people (the faithful mostly) that cant just say i dont know

You don't have to go far before you find someone who doesn't know what they're arguing. And that goes for both sides, I'm really not too happy about kids that wear the cross then go home and steal and smoke, I'd actually prefer it if Christians were generally more Christian, depending on their sect.

ok. i wish everyone acted nice but sadly things like having a parent that beats you up or being homeless or being raised wrong or not having a dad is kinda the reason people take drugs so if you want people to stop doing bad things you will have to kinda make the world a better place

Why did the parent beat them? Drinking problem? I believe an old Christian man in Into the Wild used to be an alcoholic and lost his wife and kids, so he quit it completely in the name of Christ. (He went on to become atheist after McCandless's death, but I don't think you can blame a bear wrestler's death on God's lack of interference; it was Chris's choice and Chris was happy about it: "I have had a happy life and thank the Lord. Goodbye and may God bless all!" was the last entry in his journal.)
Why are they homeless? I have worked in a soup kitchen and a food drive, I've talked to the homeless and the poor and I have tremendous sympathy with them. If they've got the papers and time for it, they can set themselves up with welfare and get on track for a permanent job and home. If they can't, bless them for putting up with it and doing their best. If they can improve their life but instead decide to buy alcohol and drugs with the money they're given for food and shelter and haven't at least tried to stop earnestly a few times, I have no pity for them.
Why were they raised wrong? If the parents were abusive or didn't take care of the children, living at a Catholic school is a way to get three square meals, an education and build faith. Even a regular orphan home or adoptive parents are viable options at any time.
I can't really see any situations where not having a parent would lead you to lost faith, perhaps if the remaining parent or guardian was abusive or negligent you'd have a point but I've covered those already.
And finally, "is the reason people take drugs," sounds like a troll to me.

i never said thats why they are atheist i said thats why they use drugs. and i can see why not haing a parent helps them become atheist because it could help them be independent

But drugs have nothing to do (directly) with atheism, you're going off the tracks.
And please, elaborate why a missing parent would make someone less faithful, I can see how it would make them more thankful and help them take less for granted right now but I can only see your side if the remaining parent is a poor one.

im not saying anything between drugs and atheism im saying that people use drugs because of stuff like not having parents. i was just saying that it could be possible that when some people dont have a parent they could be more independent and think on there own
