• I'm thinking of making an Igloo, I need some advice!

1. Find a giant ass pile from a snow plow truck(will most likely be wet from salt mixture). 2. Make sure it's compressed(important otherwise you can die and we don't want that). 3. Make tunnel to center and remove snow from inside to make 'igloo'. 4. Pray the truck doesn't come back while you're in there. although this is more of a quinzhee, not an igloo :/
I found a box guys, I'll have to find some spare pieces of wood though as a "Cordon"
I usually just make a large pile of snow and than hollow it out. It worked every time.
When I was a kid my parents got me this ice block maker. It was a piece of plastic that you would pack snow tightly into, and then after about a minute you would have a nice block. As far as I'm concerned planks won't be necessary. But sticks most definitely, to keep the roof from falling in.
I'm afraid that you couldn't make one in the UK. The snow's too powdery (even if you manage to find enough) and there isn't a thick enough layer of it to 'dig in' your igloo
Me and my brother made one on Saturday. We made one last time it snowed too. The last one collapsed on me. [editline]10:17PM[/editline] I didn't use anything other than a mould and some compacted snow.
~ZOMG do you follow me? jokes aside, It collapsed on you...?
Don't eat the yellow snow, bro. It's not worth it.

Makes sure to use snow, I made that mistake last time.
Why are you making moulds? Do it the real way and cut out chunks of ice.
sorry but the snow is much too powdery and not wet enough to stick
become an Eskimo
Just find a large pile of snow and dig yourself a nice cave instead.
You can do a few things. If you find snow deep enough and tightly packed, you can dig a tunnel into the snow and make a little spot to chill. If you stay inside and let your body heat melt the sides a little and let it sit for the night, it should be livable. Otherwise, you can make a series of snow blocks, hose them down, left them sit overnight, shape them, and build a traditional igloo. Basically, you want hard-packed snow that is somewhat frozen in order to sustain itself.
Create a fire pit.

This makes me wish I wasn't piss-poor so I could go somewhere with snow.

Make a brick mold, put your powder snow in, add some water, use something like a plunger in the shape of the mold and compact the snow. Rinse and repeat :v:
probly need ice and coldness and eskimos
