So just ANY picture.. but cropped to a square?
sorta, the challenge is to use the square format to your full advantage., simply re-cropping a 2:3 photo to 1:1 wont cut it, you have to fully reconsider composition as you know it! </taking up the challenge>

Well it's better if you think about something that will work well when cropped to a square, but yes you could enter anything. That's why I thought it was more of a twist.
I'm posting my shots for this once my scanner arrives.

snip this is shit

One of 2. Liked this one better.
I must say, the square perspective is pretty interesting. Even if I don't get around to entering the challenge, I might try shooting a few with this intent, it looks like fun.
Tough to compete with ijyt's square on square action.
Digitalrev scanning is horrible with the 1000d, kit lens and no tripod, but I liked the perspective I got on this shot at Waterloo station. that looks really spiffy with the scannin' cup. It wouldn't look too unique if you posted a full gallery of shots with the cup in frame, but seeing it there made me go WHOA
Cut
What are you doing.
What are you doing.
Could have sworn I was in the "Work That Inspires You Thread".
Tough to compete with ijyt's square on square action.
I think that just might win. It is a beautiful photo. I like the softness of the levels/contrast. The focus is great, excellent timing too.

I can finish this contest since you guys already entered, but I'm really getting tired of this thread. I like the "challenge the below poster" one a lot more.
I agree. Let's close this one out, eh? and somebody respond to my challenge in the other thread dag nabbit
