thanks, but one problem, Odin seems to want a tar file, that rom comes in a zip. is it as simple as rearchiving the files or is there something special I need to do?
Try opening it up, the rom will probably be in there.
Flip phone guy here.

What is recharging ?
Never had a smartphone, best I ever had was N95 and I gave it away. Now I'm rocking this bad boy, don't feel like I need a smartphone.
[editline]a[/editline]
Never mind, apparently n95 is a smartphone, back here they were called business phones at their time.
I don't have a cell phone, I do however, have a mobile phone.
iPhone 5S
A Samsung Galaxy S4.

Maybe try converting the file to .tar? I think you can just change the extension and it'll work, but if not you can find a converter.

flash a recovery thing if you're really scared of it. with this, actually, you can use the zip to install the ROM.

and then put a zip of 4.4.2 somewhere on your phone so you can easily access it in case of fucking up (don't pull a me and extract it, just put the zip on your phone's storage)

Shit, only 5 people with classic phones.. Might as well kill myself.
Been using HTC 7 Mozart for almost 4 years, the goddamn thing is indestructible. But it finally broke a month ago and I bought myself a HTC Desire 610.

I got this for free once I realized I didn't know how to use a smartphone.
I somehow had my previous phone set on mute and I legit thought it was broken. And that went on for two months until my father told me what was up.

despite being obviously outdated, that thing is still awesome. Kinda wish my dad didn't drop it in the toilet...
Got an Xperia M2 now.
Best phone I ever had, but then again it was the biggest upgrade I've ever done in terms of phones.
Ok camera (except front, god vga ugh), pretty good specs for a mid range, loaded with light useful features and apps, pretty slick design despite using a silicon cover, and THE BEST battery I've ever seen in a phone, which apparently is something all the Xperias share.
I use one of those clamshell "TracFone"s with prepaid minutes.
It costs me a good 20 bucks once every 3 months since I don't call all that often. Saves me a ton of money.

Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3. I love this phone and everything.. it's just I don't have anybody in my contacts list. So playing with some apps and emergency calls aside, it's kinda a waste for me.
Might downgrade to a TracFone soon. I don't know.

If you only use calls for planning, occasional business, emergencies, and once in a blue moon leisure, then Tracfone is definitely worth it. Like I said in my post before, the cost is almost nonexistent if you don't use it much.
A Sony Xperia Z2

I still have some old LG slide phone, I can't remember the model. It just sits in my car's storage console 99% of the time.
