I stopped by his place today but he wasn't home
Just stop by his place every so often, and ask if he meant to give you ALL those money. Other than that, you could just come by his place, and if he wants to, you could keep him company for an hour or two, talking about what you've done today. Things like that, can easily change peoples lives.
I could always... err.... keep it safe for you :)

He didn't pay me or anything, but he told me funny stories and exciting stuff from his childhood that made it worth it every bit. We'd split a pack of chocolate chip cookies every once in a while, too. :)
Gaw dammit I'm jealous. I'm still saving up for a winter jacket. Unfortunately the freezing weather doesn't wait for my paycheck :v:
What the fuck kind of winter jackets are you looking at?
Go back, ask if he really meant to give you that much. He'll get so impressed with your kindness and honesty that he'll give you even more!
Either that, or he'll just take back whatever he didn't mean to give him.
Maybe he knows its his final days, and is giving away the last of his riches to people he feels deserves it.
Either that, or he'll just take back whatever he didn't mean to give him.
and? honesty is worth more than money in the long run.
Not to sound abusive, but if you are nice enough to the old man, and become a close friend, he might perhaps put you in his will, and leave you with LOADS, though friendship is more important than money.
Sould make a movie about that dramatic story ... :)
I'd ask if he really wanted to give me that much. It would nag at me for probably the better part of a year, or perhaps longer, that I accepted nearly five hundred dollars for something that, to me, wasn't worth that. I wouldn't insult the man by refusing it, but I'd be sure he didn't miscount. I'm too much of a country gentleman for that, but I'd definitely get to know the guy better. He probably has plenty of stories and sounds like a worthwhile friend.
maybe he was getting ready to say goodbye and he wanted to give some money to a young promissing boy he just met.
go to a bank and exchange it all to pennies so you can bathe in your pennies.
Just go to his house and ask.
That ain't nuthin. I got 1000€ last friday from my granpa's inheritage money. I'm not really planning on saving. Gonna buy some memory, vidya games, GPU, Warhammer 40k, airsoft. Money doesn't make you happy, stuff does.
Did he give you 'that wink'/look when he handed you the money? If he did, it's not a mistake, enjoy the money.
buy weed
Probably just some of the fake money he has collected over the years from selling jewelry in NYC.
Maybe he meant to give you the other brown paper bag that he had, you know, the one with the whiskey in it. Instead, he gave you the wrong one, the one with his life savings. Poor old man.

Invest the cash into your portfolio.

Fuck, if I knew I was giving you money so you'd be all that useless shit I'd fucking crack you in the mouth.
Sounds like a chill old guy. Now take some of the money, go back to him, and tell him you want to learn to work with precious metals. Tell him you'll pay for his time, and pull out a wad of the $20s. Bet he tears up, and you learn a lot of valuable things from a man who has had a ridiculous amount of experiences in his life.
Please, slap my face with it.
Tell him he might have made a mistake paying you so much, and give back 360 dollar so you're back at 80. If the guy doesn't want to accept the money back, then thank him and maybe even keep contact with him.
I went to visit him today. I didn't have alot of time, but we sat down and had some tea. He has an amazing bear stein collection. I'm not talking about the cheap touristy-crap you find everywhere. He has authentic German steins from the 1700's and shit, he told me some can be worth thousands of bucks now. Besides that, he talked about his time in Europe and NYC, how he went to Las Vegas in the rat-pack days of the 60's, gambled a bit, met some famous mobster (Gambino - something?) and even got an autograph picture of him I'll be going back to his place in a few days. He has some more stuff for me to do
