This guide is painfully inaccurate and quite simply awful. This guide really isn't going to help anyone I'm sorry you have done very very little research and it will really show to anyone who is a true runner
Sorry if it's inaccurate, but I've been using this tips for myself and I don't see anything wrong with it. I'm running well, going faster and stronger every week. Maybe I'm wrong, but as I said, I didn't check any videos before doing this. I started running by myself and these tips are purily from my experience, that I learned.
I suppose it is a more natural way of running, but thin soled shoes are quite weak to sharp objects on a path (I.E stepping on glass) there would have to be some thickness about them, or made from some material that would stop objects from penetrating the shoe and into the skin.
Flat soled shows are bad for the arch in your foot, that's why it is better if you run in bare foot or get some running shoes
Can you explain this to me? after running for a period of time it gets WAY easier, you can run farther in less time and have more endurance, it shouldn't be getting harder for you
Yes, that's what I said in the first post. BUT First and second week is quite hard to go out running, mostly because your legs are tired from yesterdays workout and they aren't used to it yet. And after you run those 2 weeks straight, then it gets easier, you're legs get used to it and you run faster and longer. That's what I ment.

I'm about to go play some pick up ball, ill be back later to hopefully discuss anything about running
I suppose it is a more natural way of running, but thin soled shoes are quite weak to sharp objects on a path (I.E stepping on glass) there would have to be some thickness about them, or made from some material that would stop objects from penetrating the shoe and into the skin.
The reason most running shoes have inch thick padding on the bottom is to minimize the shock on the body. Without this padding, you'd get injured very quickly unless your feet are made of godly stuff (although some Kenyans do train like this). Racing shoes lack this padding because it makes the shoe lighter and thus the runner faster, but you obviously don't train in your racing shoes. It would be better to train in a form-fitting thin sole shoe if your body could take it, but running is a very punishing sport.
I workout at the gym every few days, between cardio and weights I want to cut fat out around my sides and back, I'm average but fat spoils my build. I would find it very difficult to give up coke and twix as constant snacks, purely because it tastes so damn good.
Squats. Everyday. If you're scrawny, with a little extra food and squats you will build mass, but if you're in it to loose weight, it probably won't help you much.
I was watching some videos online about workout tips for beginners. I was shocked, how wrong they were.
Right, because I trust a random facepunch user more than random non-facepunch user who operates a fitness blog/website. Riiiight

Especially the coke, replace it with water. It will help you lose weight faster
Right, because I trust a random facepunch user more than random non-facepunch user who operates a fitness blog/website. I just got back from a 2 hour bike ride, I'm doing it 5 times a week. Biking=600 cal lost an hour. 2 hours= 1200 cal. 5 days= 6000 calories lost. That's almost 2 lbs gone a week.
Working out is for losers
if you want to do this but can't muster enough motivation, just join your school's track team.
I'm going BMX'ing a hell of a lot nowadays, like at the very least twice a week (each time is like at least 3 or 4 miles, on a bmx as well, it's quite a workout) so hopefully it's making a difference, I drink water as well when I'm cycling, even though all my friends just drink loads of sugary drinks while doing it so they may as well not be doing excercise.
OP, thank you. I've been meaning to run, and I will start doing so from now on. Also, your tips helped me out! I've got a beautiful hill near me that I'll go to. It's got a lot of flat ground at it's base that I can run round, and it's in nature too. That and the fact it's quiet :) So yeah, thanks again mate!
I walked 15km to get home the other night, if it was any further I would have collapsed

If your daily intake is average around 2600, you doing excercise uses up 1200. So you'll lose weight, but not at 2lbs a week! Either way, it's a lot better than sitting and doing nothing. Keep it up :) [editline]02:27AM[/editline]
I walked 15km to get home the other night, if it was any further I would have collapsed
Oh God. My phone died on me and I couldn't call for a pickup. The path I took: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Prospect+Rd/A259&daddr=Welson+Rd&geocode=FRJLCwMdup0QAA;FW1xCwMdPa4RAA&gl=uk&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=15&dirflg=w&sll=51.078131,1.150174&sspn=0.026342,0.066047&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=15 And the last 1/3 of it is up hill. Surprisingly, I wasn't pissed. It was a really nice walk and I gotta do it again some time. No where near the 15km you walked though. It's only a quarter of that.
I just ran a mile in 7 minutes, my pulse is 128 bpm, I feel like shit but I think I can do it again tomorrow... fuck my chest burns
Last month i could barely do 2 pushups. now i can do about 50. I feel much better now :)
I just ran a mile in 7 minutes, my pulse is 128 bpm, I feel like shit but I think I can do it again tomorrow... fuck my chest burns
That's pretty fucking good man! Good job. Keep it up, do it tommorow! Also, I find it fucking incredible when you wake up at 5am, even if you're tired as hell, then go for a run / jog. You get back and shower and feel incredible. I got to about 25 pushups but I could never get higher than that without pretty much dying. I just physically couldn't do it. Keep in mind that I did keep my form really well, but I could never get past 25, even if I tried.

Well. I tried it like 3 times a day, everyday. when it hurts i always say to myself : "just do 5 more" and thats what i did everyday.

I only did it in the mornings. I guess I gotta do more sets! [editline]02:45AM[/editline]
don't forget about all the calories his metabolism uses daily.
That too :D
I'd like to run.. and workout. Augh....................
I'd like to run.. and workout. Augh....................
just do it.
do it and you'll also feel much better not long after starting.
I really want to get back into running, and I think this thread might do the trick. Thank you, OP.
Haha yeah, I feel like hell though, bro. I don't really know how much farther I can go. Please tell me out of all the days the first is the worst, I really feel like I'm jumping into this headfirst. Hopefully after a few more days it won't feel as bad haha. I'll just keep thinking "I can do this"
Don't drink protein drinks, that's shit. Eat food that has lots of protein(meat,beans,...) it's more healthier.
They are meant to be a SUPPLIMENT. Not a replacement.

I'll just keep thinking "I can do this"
If your legs feel burny as hell and that you have no power in them, that's a good sign. That achey feeling is signs of progress. Honestly, I've gone to the gym some days and worked my biceps / triceps so hard that I can't physically lift my arms. But a couple of days afterwards, my arms feel a lot stronger than they did before. It's great. The first day IS always the worst, and the day after is even worse. You just feel achey and horrible, but trust me, if you keep at it, your muscles will feel better. Yeah it doesn't make sense, but it works lol. Keep it up and the pain'll go away. It comes to a point where you just improve without the pain.
