My mile time right now is about 6 minutes even, any more push and I'd be sprinting and get cramped up or tire out too quickly. Naturally, it helps greatly to take a big dump before running.
It seems like a really easy workout. The fastest it recommends you going is a little under a 9 minute mile, which is pretty slow for a workout pace.
do you sprint your whole mile?
i know i'm out of shape and smoking but it's not that easy.
I was thinking about trying this on a gym treadmill

What do you guys think of it?
Fartlek's can be pretty good, but only if you go at race pace or faster when you are running

It is, my mile time is 4:27
I'm wondering if running laps of a small area a couple hundred times could equate to a full blown course? also I love running at night.
Of course it can, but it gets very boring after awhile running around in circles
You need to workout at least 45mins to 1 hour (depending on the person), after that limit your body starts burning fat.
uhhhh no you don't, it's common knowledge that after around 20-30minutes is the point where running over that will start to burn weight
do you sprint your whole mile?

You can run a mile in 9 minutes at 3 m/s, which is about the same speed as a power walk.

My mile time is only 5:10, which is really pretty average for someone on my school's track team. Once you get in shape, you should be able to run sub 7 if not sub 6. Breaking the 5 minute barrier, that's the hard part.
Would you recommend one of those large, belt things when squatting? Because I think I may have hurt my back because I didn't use one.
That's exactly what I said. Unelss you meant to quote the guy I quoted
Oh Jesus. I swear I edited that like 20 million times. I was so tired when I wrote it.
I was agreeing with you, disagreeing with him, but I think I quoted the wrong person.

Depends. If you're lifting professionally, then definitely yes. If you're lifting heavy weights, then yes. If you're just lifting small weights that won't actually put too much pressure on your back, you'd just look like a muppet.
High rep low tension exercises suck at building STRENGTH, but are good to develop endurance.
That's why bodybuilders "define" their muscles-
hight tension low rep exercises come naturally with a higher resting muscle tone :)
And don't use a damn weight lifting belt, give your tendons and stuff like that time to catch up to your muscles !
Also, practice back strength >.<
Also, practice proper squatting form >.<

And then you eat and you are back where you were b4 working out.
Personally I just go to the gym. I have a whole workout program but it's written down in my notebook, mondays and fridays I do entirely cardio, tuesdays and thursdays are my core days, and I work my extremities on wednesday.
Obviously not everyone lives near a gym, but if you are that devoted to the whole self improvement thing, you should be taking the "no excuses" attitude. make your own weights, lift tyres, get resistance tubing, shadowbox. It's pretty easy as long as you really want it

I don't squat too often or with too much, I think. How much is 150? Alot? Not alot?
Anyone know a good sprinting schedule to get ripped?
The only time I really find energy drinks useful is when I'm driving somewhere and completely exhausted, on that topic.

No they don't. Bodybuilders "define" their muscles through fat loss.
There's no such thing as "toning".
High rep, low weights will strengthen the slow twitch/white fibers, and thereby potentially increase endurance, yes. There's some thought given to the fact that the white/slow twich fibers can be hypertrophied to some degree, but IMO if muscle gain is your goal, and you're not a bodybuilder with 5 years of training under his belt and reaching his genetic limit, it's time wasted trying to achieve the small amount of hypertrophy slow twitch fibers can yield.
Agreed on the weight belt, piss it off. Belts are a tool for advanced trainees looking to achieve a specific goal.
Anyone know a good sprinting schedule to get ripped?
First of all, sprinting's mainly going to give you strong, sleek legs and abs. Not ripped arms.
But just run about 6 200's sub 32 to start, as well as 300s and 400s. Doing these multiple times gets you faster and gives you more endurance, especially if you run a longer distance than you're competing for.
I agree with everyone who said you should lift weights too. You will definitely lose weight from running, but you don't want all cardiovascular exercise with nothing else, you will just end up with muscular calves that could kick a soccer ball a mile...but you won't be able to pick that ball up.
I'm pretty sure you shouldn't run every single day. You should have a day break in-between once a week or so to give your muscles a rest and a chance to build.

Pretty much this it seems like. If you want improvement just lift heavy ass weights, thats it. If you're looking to "tone" like some say higher reps aren't the answers just do more cardio and improve your diet. You need to lose fat to show harder muscle.
I don't mean to be a fitness guru, I'm sure as hell not qualified to be one. But I have been following this guy, with some good improvement and the stuff he says actually makes some sense.

You should run 5-6 days max, always have a rest day
I should do this.
hey you guys know where i can buy some Testosterone Cypionate and Dianobol
i run barefoot
hey you guys know where i can buy some Testosterone Cypionate and Dianobol
Your local gym would sound like a pretty good shot, if there are lifters in there.
hey you guys know where i can buy some Testosterone Cypionate and Dianobol
Have you even got a good solid training base (i.e 3 or more years of serious training under your belt)? If not, you shouldn't be asking that question. I assume you don't, otherwise you'd already have the answer to that.
Also, if it was your first cycle, why the FUCK would you touch D-bol? D-bol isn't shit to fuck around with on a whim. Please, please do your research before you make any further steps.
I just posted that expecting 12 year olds to google it then tell me I'm a cheating fag or something. I didn't know there was actually people with some intelligence in here, good job.

Not a lot. Things like Belts, Gloves, and Shoes, are a nice small addition - but that's all they are. It's like supplements, not required but nice to have.
No, Humans can drink it, but It wasn't made for us to drink.

He meant that human bodies were designed to work best using pure water.

energy drinks are bad for a run but i find them to help with my lifts especially considering that caffeine improves performance. although normally i just pop a no doze 20 mins before as its like $8 max for 24 doses
I guess I came in here to make a fat joke but...I mean really I've got better things to do...
Subway is your best friend when working out but that's doesn't mean you can pile mountains of mayo on your sub to help fight back the sexual desires of your gut.
