Though this isn't that bad of an idea. This wont have the ability to ban/remove a user from an area and or keep it private a couple of members. Prove me wrong though.

Yeah, the membership approval for custom forums would be cool.
Free and open posting and everything is cool and all but certain groups/forums will undoubtedly attract more spam and trolls than others.

We were using an outdated, soon to be unsupported version of vBulletin.
Have to keep up with security patches and such, otherwise Doug would have a field day.
