Should it be illegal to not tell people you have an STD/STI?

The ID card won't work... If 2 people are at a bar and they hit it off and someone goes back to the others place and they start getting worked up they aren't going to stop the whole thing and go "Well just let me see your ID card", and if they did I am sure the response will be "I left it at home, but don't worry I'm clean".
I'd be fucking pissed if my girlfriend new she had herpes and told people about it, neglected to tell me about it, then came on over and fucked me in more ways than one.
Uh, well, if a person has an STI and don't tell their lover then they're not very trust worthy, and it's both their faults. One. For the person with the STI too not tell their partner, and two, for their partner not to ask.
Well, the their partner asks and they lie, then I think it's fair too say they don't deserve the partner.
Anyway.
It shouldn't be illegal for them not to tell their partner.
no
What I was thinking, is that everyone with a contagious STD/STI be given an identification card that states the STD/STI they have and it's history and the person will be required, by law, to show anyone who may be prone to getting it; boyfriends, girlfriends, lovers, etc. Honestly, it pissed me off when I heard about her not telling him that she had one. I feel really sorry for the guy because his life is ruined.
For fuck's sake with you dude...
lol i had AIDs all along
she sounds like a dumb bitch for not telling him and he's a dumb bitch for not using protection
condoms don't stop the spread of herpes
Stop complaining and cure herpes.
condoms don't stop the spread of herpes
They can reduce the risk of spreading.
Would be nice
I think that even though it may seem awkward it's blatantly obvious that people who have any infectious, terminal disease must inform potential partners before engaging in any kind of sex.
Herpes is nothing to worry about, most people I know have it. Seriously.

Toronto police have issued a warning about an HIV-positive Hamilton woman after they charged her with failing to disclose her condition to a man before a one-night stand last weekend.
...
De Lottinville said Hamilton police have investigated her on a previous occasion although he declined to say what happened with the case. However, from that investigation, Toronto police are aware of at least 10 men they believe had unprotected sexual relations with St. Clair. A police source said the number is believed to be many times greater than that.
De Lottinville of 32 Division described her as "reckless, not malicious." He said the conditions of her release include an 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew but she's believed to be "still active in the bar scene."
In Hamilton, St. Clair admitted she didn't tell the Toronto man about her potentially deadly disease.
"Because I got scared," she told the Hamilton Spectator.
Choking back tears, St. Clair added: "Nobody understands what my life is like."
The single mother, who has a toddler-aged son, said she watched yesterday as the Toronto police held a televised news conference about her.
"I thought they weren't going to do that," she said. "As long as I told anybody I've been with."
Boxes for her
It's a law in some states. In fact, if you have HIV, and you give it to someone without telling them, in some states, that's murder.

You can't enforce this. How will you require people to show a card?
That's why you use a condom kiddies!
This makes it obvious you've never had sex.

By making it a murder charge not to.
Why wouldn't you say her name? This is the internet we have no idea who you are talking about, it's completely anonymous. You dumb fuck.
If you find out you have HIV or a STV at the doctors, you HAVE to call everyone you have ever slept with in your life or they will put you in jail.
answer to op's q: no because you have free speech in america. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
you dont know how it works over here lol.
Actually, freedom to not speak is technically part of the first amendment.
Except that your rights are voided the moment they infringe on someone else's rights.

umm i live in americaland so no arguing
If you don't tell someone you're giving them an STV, that's illegal.
This just in: People with Aids and other STD's must carry a "HEY GUYS I GOT AIDS" sign where ever they go.

If you dont know who she is, why would you want to know the name anyways?

I don't care about knowing the name but to not include a name for privacy is stupid, that's my point
its std
HIV is a STV (sexualy transmitted virus).
This is why I use Trojan Ultra-Thin condoms.
This is why I'm getting my boyfriend to go get tested before we have sex for the first time. >_o I'm a virgin, while he's not and I'd want to be completely sure that he doesn't have anything that I could get.
It's illegal to transmit AIDS in Victoria and New South Wales (Australia) to another person. If a person is found to have purposly done it, there is a very sever punishment.
The laws have only been used a few times.
