and police dont? vest/gun/taser/nightstick/radio/whateverelsethefuck
I agree, running from the police is relatively easy, because A. Cars don't go to places people do, that's not what they were meant for. and B. the Police have a shit ton of gear to carry, the things you listed mostly.
I used to do this with some friends but it got boring. [editline]26th February 2011[/editline] lol, a bumped thread :|
Parkour is hardcore.
I think I might try and get fit this summer. Then when I get fit, I'll start trying parkour. We're still in winter here in PA, or else I wouldn't be typing.
I thought the art of moving was walking.
Why are there two threads on this. PARKOUR PARKOUR
I wish it wasn't snowing and icy where I live..
I wanted to try this, except there's no where to do it near me, and I am a scrawny little bitch.
i hate people who say it isn't a sport it's a way of life no it's niether it's fucking stupid
i hate people who say it isn't a sport it's a way of life no it's niether it's fucking stupid
so much agree it's not like you can't just drive wherever you're going I'd rather be 10 minutes late than stumble around and ontop of obstacles looking like a dumbass
i hate people who say it isn't a sport it's a way of life no it's niether it's fucking stupid
The people that say "it's a way of life" are the kind that are much more into it than teenagers that saw a video on youtube. They're the kind of person that spends most of their free time training and improving. e.g. In my city there is a place called the Trace Facility where the Australian Parkour Association hosts classes and open sessions. It also doubles as their home and training facility for their stunt work. These instructors are people that train all the time for their jobs as stunt men. They know full well that getting from one place to another is almost always faster in a car but that doesn't stop them from training. Then again, I guess the kind of people to say "it's a way of life" could also just be people that know jack shit about parkour and are just trying to impress people, but I don't know anyone like that. You can say it's stupid if you want, but I've never met another organisation of people that are all nice to each other all the time. It's pretty fucking awesome to spend an entire day exercising and joking around with friends.
Off to do it in a half hour [editline]27th February 2011[/editline]
The people that say "it's a way of life" are the kind that are much more into it than teenagers that saw a video on youtube.
Why haven't some parkour pros robbed a bank? There's no way in hell the police could catch them.
I would do this if I didn't mind looking like a huge faggot
Damn, I simply can't wait for winter to be over so I can stop training and start actually moving around again.
Wait wait, i'm the only one here who's had to do a 180 degree wallspin to get from point A to point B? I don't know about you, but it's a hell of a lot faster than knocking myself out running into a wall, it's very helpful if your in unfamiliar territory and there's sharp turns and other obstacles.
My boyfriend keeps saying he will take up this one day. I just sigh and say, "If you get hurt don't come complaining to me. I don't want to see your bones sticking out of your legs when you land wrong."
Hardcour Parkour
I vote for the thread title to be changed to Parkour - Your bruises have bruises which all have bruises too!

My favourite spot around there is currently a construction site. Or at least it was last time I saw it (haven't trained for a few weeks because of school and work). It's very unlikely that he'll get seriously hurt doing parkour if he's smart about it. Make sure he learns from a good traceur and that he gets his fundamentals down.

If I didn't already have knee problems from growing I would wanna try some basic stuff.
