You can always wear a good mouthguard. Only if you don't choke on it.
i've wanted to learn parkour for so long, maybe i'll hit that little playground near by...
fuckin scared of trying to roll on concrete
I've managed 16 feet with a roll Scariest landing ever.
I'm trying to find Health and Safety tips now, check back tomorrow at 3PM and I should have a pretty detailed tidbit.
Good thread. I give you one informative rating.
i've wanted to learn parkour for so long, maybe i'll hit that little playground near by...
lol, I find it sad that playgrounds are kickass for parkour, if they are the small tightly packed ones they are hardcore for just running around in one for a bit.
curse my country living, its times like these that i wish i was in a city, but then i remember all the madness and i think that i'll stay here.
A better explanation of rolling (nearly broke my neck trying a crappy explanation from wikihow) http://parkourpedia.com/technique/rolling
I look nothing like someone who can parkour.. Its incredibly fun.
If I didn't hate running, and was in great shape, I would definitely do this.
Well maybe if you got in shape you wouldn't hate running, so you could really get into Parkour. Of course, you don't need to be a good runner to start practising the techniques.
Yamakasi anyone ?

fuck david belle, this kid is a real pro.
I do parkour in the forests, I'm scared to death by the hard solid metals in the town. Might just be because I live in the forest
After reading this, I quite fancy giving it a go, but I need to get fitter before I think about it. Also, there's nowhere around here I can think of where I can really do it. It's just a pretty bland suburb around here.
fuck david belle, this kid is a real pro.
At first I was watching without sound and I was already raging, but then I went back and turned on the sound. I gotta say, it was quite an experience.
I do parkour and love it.
Don't get Freerunning and Parkour mixed up people, lol If the word parkour means to move, and so does Freerunning. Then what's the difference? =P
From what i have learned, parkour is getting from place to place the quckest you can get there, while freerunning is just doing all these fun tricks for the hell of it
Pretty much this.
Pretty much this.
Yep, I don't do fancy stunts while running through a forest to get to the "point B" but I do jump, dodge, climb, land and uh..run a lot. Non of my friends can keep up with me :p Oh and you guys have NO idea how damn important it is to have light clothes. I've used the same clothes as always as I'm used to their weight and to what side I have to lean slightly
Does your name happen to be link?
Link doesn't parkour! ...He cuts grass.
Can someone explain to me what a Beep test is? I'm not a native English speaker so I don't have an idea what it is. Do you get a set amount of time to run as far as possible or something?
Can someone explain to me what a Beep test is? I'm not a native English speaker so I don't have an idea what it is. It starts out slow so you only have to walk or something, and gradually gets faster and faster untill you're sprint from side to side. I got level 8 when i was in year 7, so about 11 years old but haven't done it since. this test is also used in police training, though you only have to get to level 5 which is pretty shameful.
I have gotten into parkour as well, this year I'm planning to restart, due to lack of action during the winter, when I can't ride my bike(expect an MT) I can't do the Dash, but that might be due to the obstacle I'm using. Instead I do some mix between Dash and Speed vault, or just the Dash with one hand.
If I were in great shape and lived in a city, I would totally do parkour. However, as none of those circumstances exist in reality, I just have to watch.
There are no moves in Parkour, you can do your own style and movements. These "moves" are just reccomended. I always vaulted befor I even knew about parkour. Yay I did the research.
hey guys I did some epic parkour yesterday and I got this sweet video of it aswell!
