Lovely.
That actually isn't a bad playground to start off at.
Shame he just..Failed.
The sand would also help alot.
Soft landing, no need to roll at that moment.

wow. did you really have to write that? it's just a funny video of some asshole who can't land a 1m jump.
hahahahahaha.
Aw man, I'd love to try this out but I'm not very athletic and I'm lazy.
Still anyone in my area doing this amazing-looking sport has my full support.

Oh might add, never try this with jeans. And be sure to have really good fitting pants.
I once had loose jeans and tried to leap and I dislocated my arm.
I think gloves with good grips would be useful. Every time I wall climb something high (10-15 feet) I always slam my hands down on the ledge. The first few times I did it it was fine but lately my palms get cut up everytime I do that.

I wouldn't use gloves. But that might just be me...
You see I trust my hands, they are my eyes and my sense. By putting gloves on them I'd loose that in a way. Or you could get used to it.
Most athletic gloves have grips on them, mine do at least.
Not bothering quoting everyone but...
Whoever said you shouldn't really use gloves is right. You should let your palms get tougher, and over time, calluses develop and you don't need gloves.
Arm leap (or whatever) is also (mainly) known as the Cat Leap, and finally...
It doesn't matter how high you can jump from. Don't compare and compete with other people, that's not what it's about. But if you must know, even the professionals say not to attempt 20 foot (you get the point) drops too often, they'll destroy you over time. You'll feel it in your knees.
Be safe, 'n wish me luck with getting the parkour club started at my school.
:D
Me and my friend have been into this for a long time but we haven't actually set a Parkour route yet. We just Freerun around the local parks. My friend, unlike me, works out so the shit he does is amazing. I, on the other hand, am not as fit as he is. I was wondering if anyone could give me a good conditioning routine. So far I'm thinking about starting with the basics like push ups, sit ups, crunches, etc but I don't think that's the best. Any tips?
I didn't say anything about how high you jump is how good you are. And I am slowly developing calluses, so gloves help a bit with the pain.
i luv u baby
that's exactly what I wanted you to say <3
I would love to try this, but don't know anyone else that does, and in the middle of Georgia, am surrounded by rednecks and fat emo rednecks, so I don't think there's any hope for me.

Use them as obstacles?
It's due time for new content, so here is something I find interesting.
The uses of Parkour
Now, for the argument that will make the lazy car people shut up. There is many uses for Parkour, but mainly, as stated before, getting from point A to B in the most efficient manner. Parkour is one of the only forms of transport that can get you there faster than anything else.
Example 1
You are given the chance to race a friend to a certain location for 20$. He says you can't beat him because he has a car. He is wrong.
An overview of the scene:

As you can see, I have already laid out the plans for the procedure. Point A and B are marked. The grey blob is a carpark with multiple exits. As you can see, your friend, indicated by the blue line, goes around the carpark in traffic. You, indicated by the red line, simply run through the carpark and make it there way before he does. You just earned 20$, easy isn't it?
Example 2
Here you are in a traffic jam and are going to be late for work in 5 minutes. You have the choice of being late, or making a quick dash to your workplace on foot. Once again, an overview of the situation:

As you can see, it is the same way you do things, get to point B as fast as you can. Now you aren't late for work.
More info will be pasted later on, including a way to get yourself fit for Parkour!
I can't see the pictures :P
Edit:
Holy shit this is an old topic.
Nah, not that old, and there's not another one, and this is a decent thread.
Amateur freerunner here.
I've been meaning to get into it, but I live in the country, so all I can really do is climb and run. Maybe vault over a few things. I might go outside soon and work on rolling though. For some reason, my normal roll doesn't work when going from run to roll, but when I jump and go forward, it works. Might be because I'm used to having the time before I hit the ground to get into position.
I present to you

It's incredible how humans have to train to do anything efficiently. Yet baby animals know these type of things a few days later after being born.

Well, animals are naturally suited to their environment. People aren't naturally suited to run through urban environments, however, tigers for example, are made to run through the underbrush. Well, not made specifically for that, bet definitely suited for it. Humans are more about having a broad range of movement through multiple situations.
I do parkour for fun with my friends. I really enjoy it, I don't know why. When I'm alone I like to climb up trees too.
I have a problem with Muscle-Up, though: I can't manage to climb up a wall by placing my palms on the ledge. I always have to put my entire arm on the ledge to climb up. It is much slower.
It's like skating without a board.
Made by the same douchebags that skate.
It's an excuse to take your shirt off and film yourself jumping around like a monkey

I have the feeling you're some fatass angsty basement dweller according to your post, prove me wrong.

No, it isn't.

Again, wrong.

Only the people that are really showing off take their shirts off, and not everyone films themselves.
