I made this a few weeks ago for school and it's gotten so much good feedback from other students they are playing it at assembly. Tell me what you guys think.
Not terrible. Story was fine but, the bad sound effects kind of ruined the mood. Also, you wouldn't really hear the rain that loudly inside an airport bathroom would you? Another thing, it doesn't seem like the dude (not pilot) is wearing the right clothing.
I made a musicvideo for my my friends band, using GoPros in new ways. I think it looks awesome on the bassdrum and how it shakes when he hits it!
Here's my video from Germany
posted in the photography thread also, but here I worked on this today, first try at special effects
Made this last week. My first attempt at time lapsing, so i kinda just did it as an experiment, but it would be awsome to hear what you think i could improve on?
What is that red flash at 0:04 ? Also, fast forward it more.
What is that red flash at 0:04 ? Also, fast forward it more.
That red flash is probably a car illuminating the house. Ok, thanks for the tip :)
First time trying to make a video. It's a skate video for my mate... who skates.
I was disappointed :( I love your photos, but this was just... average it was like you were just watching them skate, except you were holding a camera, nothing creative or anything :( :( :(
There is too much footage of inside the car, imo. You should also watch some skate movies, for inspiration. I'm sorry if it's a little harsh, but I'm just being honest.
To be honest guys, i need more criticism like what your giving me! It reminds me of when i started doing photography  also alcapwne sorry to disappoint, i'll improve over time!
Hmm, I think the angles, that you're filming from, are a little weird. The way the music is cut-off isn't optimal either. I'm a little tipsy, so it might sound like fucking gibberish.
you either want to be really wide, always getting the skaters entire body or quite tight, with close up of the feet / eyes / hands, etc. right now you're in the awkward not wide enough to fit the entire person but not cose enough to be close up length.
you really should watch this Notice how they kinda follow the skate, use interesting angles and it's pretty fast paced. I'm a little tipsy, so it might not really make any sense, but I'll give some more cc when I've sobered up.
I see what you mean /b/rother (you drunkard), what i'm looking into doing is getting the basics of skateboarding so i can skate beside them. and H4Z3Y i agree with your composition issue.
I'm looking forward to see more skate videos from you, though
I'm looking forward to see more skate videos from you, though
I dont' just want to do skate videos, i want to try everything (short films/special effects/interviews setups) before i start developing!
whatever you're posting i'm sure it'll be interesting.
Video from this seasons last event. I need a camera with a higher FPS. 25 FPS just doesn't do it.
You should really get a tripod, otherwise it's great.
I do have a tripod but it's a bitch to mingle around with when I'm only using my 50mm. I can see what you mean when using the 70-200 though

A little something I made for my friend before we both went off to college. Here's another one from when I took a trip to Arizona
i totally made this exact thread http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1080349?highlight= granted it was forever ago, but essentially the same and i had a title picture and everything....
Would you recommend a 50mm for video? I'm this close to buying one *holds up hands*
Not the 1.8, but the 1.4, absolutely. I'm using the 1.4 and I think I'm a little in love with it.
Not the 1.8, but the 1.4, absolutely. I'm using the 1.4 and I think I'm a little in love with it.
What's wrong with the 1.8?
It's fragile as fuck
It's fragile as fuck
But I don't know if I'm up for spending over $350 on a lens right now. Is the quality very different?
First tests with a fluid head. Any tips on how to get better starts and stops other than... well... practicing? Also I will try and make me a DIY follow focus of sorts because manual focusing on the lens is bad for video, especially when the focus ring is stiff.
