I drink milk, water and soda every day and I have no ill side-effects from it, why should I bend over backwards for what someone on FP says when half of it is bullshit and the other half doesn't apply to me
There are a lot of reasons why you shouldn't drink soda but these mainly depend entirely on who you are. (eg. bodybuilders like me should avoid soda at all times)
But you can stop drinking soda just to prove that you have enough willpower to do that and overcome any cravings for it.

I'm being a little harsh on you, you've actually admitted soda isn't always bad for you no matter what but my point still stands
computer use can lead to soreness of eyes and it's not NECESSARY so for your own health I'm going to have to ask you to stop posting
I do eye exercises while using things with screens for prolonged period of time. You are ignoring the fact that pop is very bad. Having it once in a while is fine, sure, but having 1+ a day is stupid.

how is having one soda a day as a teenager who exercises every day stupid
you ham and sigma-lambda have only managed to mumble "well it's bad for 40 year olds" so far

It's tasty as shit

Yea I agree also. Soda is fucking amazing. I had all those side-effects also, but that was cus I was addicted to Red Bull and drank it at 2-3 cans a day. It's good in right amounts 1-2 cans a day is fine.
It's ironic that diet soda is much, much more harmful to you than normal soda.
Also, I fucking love soda.
I drink mostly flavored water anyway, only occasionally having a Pepsi every now and then.
Soda isn't really that much of a problem as long as you aren't chugging 12 cans a week.
i chug 24 cans a day bitch you don know me
I've been drinking water for the past 4 years, now soda tastes way too sugary.
I agree with OP. Soda is bad for you.
a few weeks ago I went through 24 cans of MD voltage in 3 days
it was awesome

thank you for letting us know that gum disease is bad

ITT OP is blatantly full of shit and when his argument gets stomped starts crying about how everyone else is 12 and he's like so misunderstood
Make healthy drinks that taste as good as soda, then we'll talk.
Make healthy drinks that taste as good as soda, then we'll talk.
or
I'm already drinking soda in moderation and it has literally none of the side effects you're on about so how about I keep drinking it
I'm pretty sure we all know soda is bad for us but we drink it anyways. What is the point of living life if we have to be afraid of everything?
ITT OP is blatantly full of shit and when his argument gets stomped starts crying about how everyone else is 12 and he's like so misunderstood
Everything I said is true and and nobody has provided a good argument

I've only seen one 12 year old in this thread. I'll repost the facts so as you can read them rather than being ignorant.
Actually, I measured the acidity of red bull, kick, lucozade and other such drinks. They're all above 3.5
Cool, phosphorus. This should be interesting when I do a flame test on the residue later this year.
I don't believe that for a second. Plus, drink milk to replenish the calcium if it is actually true?
This is the only credible claim so far. Ingesting simple sugars (mainly sucrose) does quickly lower the immune system.
I drink shitloads of such drinks, and am underweight. Though, the sugar intake from it can cause weight gain in the long term if you have an awful diet combined with it.
I've never learned much about aspartame, but I think you'd need to drink a good 10-20 litres a day to get those effects.
In an average energy drink, there is around 300mg of caffeine. That's quite a lot. In other drinks (coke, fanta, irn bru) there's only tiny amounts. Not enough to get you hooked.
No. Instead I'll continue drinking it while analysing it for my advanced higher chemistry investigation.
Check above. Makes more sense if you read what I'm replying too as well.
It rots your teeth. And makes them more sensitive. Why? Soda has the same pH level as Vinegar, 2.5. pH level measures acidity. Dr. Elson Haas, famous health author, says “Tooth loss, periodontal disease, and gingivitis can be problems, especially with a high phosphorus intake, particularly from soft drinks.” It also dissolves enamel.

It takes calcium from your bones. Dr. Michael Murray, from the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine, concluded, “It appears that increased soft drink consumption is a major factor that contributes to osteoporosis.” Your bones break more easily too.

It weakens your immune system.

Dr. Marion Nestle, also famous health author, states, “The relationship between soft drink consumption and body weight is so strong that researchers calculate that for each additional soda consumed, the risk of obesity increases 1.6 times.” You don't want that, do you?

Diet soda is worse. The aspartame in them produces methanol in your bloodstream, and if you drink too much it's very dangerous.

Caffeine is addicting and has really bad withdrawal symptoms. Tests at John Hopkins university found that people suffering from withdrawal had not only headache, but also fatigue, mild depression, muscle pain and stiffness, flu-like feelings, nausea and vomiting.

Stop drinking this shit
Fuck off.
Everyone here has at least one or more healthy habits as it is, whether it be exercising, drinking lots of water, eating vegetables or anything else. We already know that soda is bad for you, a lot of things in life are bad for you, it doesn't mean you shouldn't do them while you can.
How does that say I'm wrong at all. Those are all proven facts I've provided
what is everyone doing
a person is able to post a thread that is full of inaccuracies and blatant mental retardation and you people run into it faster than fat albert and a bakery that's having a 50% off sale
then again he is incredibly fat and would not be able to get through the door even if he actually made it before you did
which would mean you are in absolutely horrendous physical condition
but the point is, this guy is a troll
After 9 pages of posts I'm sure what I said has been posted in different forms, but whatever, I'm just reinforcing the message.

yeah man you're trollin me hard, I just had to say what I had to say since I had 2 spare minutes to argue with you
I drink beer instead of soda. Every day.
See the number of people backing up my claims? They're all trolls, right? And the people saying, "I feel better/lost 20 lbs since not drinking soda" are lying, right?
