There's plenty of palm sized keyboards but most are bluetooth and or windows only, so someone would have to make a driver from scratch, no idea how hard that is
You've got the Rii, which doubles as a mouse

but it's like $60
Then there's this thing which is about $15

wired USB, no driver for anything besides PS2 and Windows
For pointing devices a hacked spare laptop trackpad would be enough
and for a screen you could either have a spare netbook one or maybe even a pico sized projector

Is there a cheaper variant of that? I would love that.

seems to be on sale at the moment.

I have one of these for that Xbox 360 HPC I build two summers ago. The range sucks on that thing sucks, I had to modify it to give it some signal boost.

50$
I've been struck with the extremely strong urge to buy one of these when it comes out and turn it into some sort of bad-ass thing, like a wrist computer, or connect it to the tiniest projector you can find, and have a little box that plays HD movies on the wall :buddy: Holy fuck the possibilities with this thing are mind-blowing!

Or 1993, I'm not 100% sure
Well on the bright side, Nissan is very nice, I have a 2000 Maxima and it's real nice for a first car.

That pocket projector thing would be genius and get all of my money, if it weren't for the fact that the only mini projector I can find doesn't use cords. So it'd take a lot of effort to get it to work.
Anyways, I swear I'm buying one of these as soon as I can. Not sure what to use it for but there's gatta be some use for a credit card sized computer with HDMI output.
My TV has only a dvd-player plugged in, if I can't find another use for this, I'll just plug my this in via HDMI and use it as a media player.
Also, mini projector is an awesome idea.
These are pretty cool, but "supercomputer" is the wrong term.
I'm just hoping it can run Dwarf Fortress :v:
Then I'm gonna see if I can set up a little portable machine with just a keyboard and a small screen. All the portable gaming I would ever need.

Unless we get ARM binaries of Dwarf Fortress, it can't.
Damn, sounds awesome. Was contemplating building a small media centre PC, this sounds almost perfect for the job. I wonder what they use to play the video at 1080p, just wondering what formats it supports.

I assume as time goes on, all of them. It's a computer, not an MP3 player with an unchangeable OS and programs on it. It'll play probably what your media player on it plays.
The annoying thing for me is that it only has a hdmi output, and I only have 1 screen that takes hdmi.

It has RCA too. RCAs go on pretty much any TV. If you forgot what RCA is:

Oooh, that's great :D
Hell yes it is, it basically means that you can tap into any television you see, be it HDMI or RCA

I think it's only H.264, but maybe the more generic parts could be used to accelerate decoding of other formats.
These things are so slow that if the DSP can't decode it, it's not worth doing it in software.

Yeah it's got built in decoders dedicated for HD video & audio playback.

Just an example though.
If this becomes a success i can asure that people will try to port games like Dwarf Fortress to run on that processor
If this becomes a success i can asure that people will try to port games like Dwarf Fortress to run on that processor
Dwarf fortress is pretty damn CPU intensive IIRC, so I'm not sure that it will be high up on peoples list :P
Still, I expect people will port most of the old id software games.
So would it be practical to use this for say, school and homework usage? Also it supports wifi, right?
Also, would it ever be possible for me to just use my SGSII as the screen, even bringing even less stuff.
edit: I am also a lazy bastard who won't read through 9 pages, sorry if repeated.

you SGSII is more powerful than this
you SGSII is more powerful than this
By far.
It's actually ridiculous how powerful the S2 is.
you SGSII is more powerful than this
but it kinda sucks since I can't stick usb ports and shit into it like the Raspi can.
Yes you can, get an USB hub for it.
Most Android phones will work with a USB OTG host cable. Not to sure about a hub, but maybe if it's a powered hub.
I just realized how the Linux subforum is going to explode with posts once this comes out.
