I made a Raspberry Pi wallpaper for myself, feel free to use it. Res is 1920x1080, not doing anything else [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/dcWco.png[/IMG_thumb]
Crisp version please? :D
My shitty inkscape vectorized version

Edit: better one

Is there any news on when these things will be ready to order?
My shitty inkscape vectorized version Edit: better one
3360x1080 version please? :D [editline]13th January 2012[/editline] Don't worry, made my own 1920x1080 version. Enjoy! [t]http://i.imgur.com/tReRX.png[/t] [editline]13th January 2012[/editline] Made a darker one: [t]http://i.imgur.com/mXezq.png[/t] And a black one: [t]http://i.imgur.com/elDy1.png[/t]
Once this is released, I'll be buying a Model B Raspberry Pi, a Micro-USB 5v charger, a USB hub (powered), and a USB dvd-drive. I'll load the XBMC for ARM port on to it (when available), hook it all up inside an empty PS2 case, and see how well it works as a media center. I'll post results. [editline]But[/editline] The external DVD drive is going to be more expensive than the Raspberry Pi :v: I might rip one out of an older computer and use a Sata/IDE to USB converter.

It's a Deathstar so no wonder it's broken.
Someone please tell me there's an ARM/Linux compatible MAME, SNES, or maybe even N64 emulator.
MAME, SNES, Megadrive, Gameboy Advance, etc... and I think you could even emulate Playstation games. Anything less powerful than a Playstation is going to run fine (aside from maybe Sega 32X). I'm not sure about N64, though
by the way, cool banner
I'm thinking of getting my 5 year old niece one for her birthday, is that cruel? (that's if it's out by November :P)
Already drawing a few contraptions that i could use with Raspberry Pi Are you able to host a BYOND server on it?
Already drawing a few contraptions that i could use with Raspberry Pi Are you able to host a BYOND server on it?
Even if it's ARM compatible (I have no idea) I'm doubtful the CPU is fast enough since BYOND does literally everything server-side.
Are you able to host a BYOND server on it?
Can you compile the server to ARM/are there ARM binaries available? If yes, then yes. (I have no idea what BYOND is)
I might grab one and make a wrist-watch computer thingie.
Are there any "exact" release dates for it yet? I don't want to get my hopes up of it being obtainable in a short amount of time v:v:v
I wonder if this thing can run Windows 8? Win8 is going to have an ARM build, after all. [editline]13th January 2012[/editline] Oops, bad reading. It's already been asked and apparently the Pi doesn't have enough RAM. Darn.
I might grab one and make a wrist-watch computer thingie.
Too big for that size, not to mention it uses too much power.
I know the hardware will be able to run them, but have people made emulators for all of those consoles that work with linux under an ARM cpu?
Well now there's soon added motivation to-do so.
How hard would it be to create a casing? Otherwise I'd make a watch computer running Windows XP.
How hard would it be to create a casing? Otherwise I'd make a watch computer running Windows XP.
It Can't run XP. Its a ARM CPU. [editline]13th January 2012[/editline] In a Min I'm going to make a youtube FAQ.
How hard would it be to create a casing? Otherwise I'd make a watch computer running Windows XP.
You can't run XP on it. And you really wouldn't want to.
Stop talking about putting the damn things on watches Look at the size of the USB port. Do you really want to have that on your wrist?
Anyone else planning to make a gaming console out of this thing? I plan on making something like a gaming console interface to select games on the system. Plug in a controller and play the games on it. Plugs into a TV too, seems almost like an actual gaming console.
I have a big idea along these lines.

With a screen the same size and perhaps some kind of wireless keyboard/mouse (like this) it could easily be wrist mounted.
It'd look like a pipboy wait holy shit genius
It'd look like a pipboy wait holy shit genius
You're late on that one, someone said they were making a Pip-boy like thing at the start of this thread AND before hand on the Raspberry Pi forums.
Making a pip-boy would be awesome, though very hard and takes alot of skill. [editline]13th January 2012[/editline] I won't do it, probably.

But the digitizer will take up the USB slot, so you'll have to use a USB hub if you want to connect more than one. But because of the limited power given by the board, you'd need a powered USB hub, needing more power etc.
