It's got two USB ports actually, so you wouldn't necessarily need the hub.
I think you're forgetting the fact you also need a power source and a screen

With a screen the same size...
I agree though. It's not really viable, but theoretically it could be done, with a lot of money which would eliminate the point of a Raspberry Pi in the first place.
Why your wrist? Why not on a strap across the breast, going from the shoulder to the armpit below the opposite arm? I think it would look pretty sweet, and you could put it on the strap of a medic-bag as well.
You guys have such fancy ideas, I was only planning on getting a screen and a harddrive and strapping it all together with some duct-tape or a few rubber bands v:v:v
Someone really should make a list with power supplies, LCD screens, HDMI converters and such in a thread/post.
I got no idea where to look for such a thing
[editline]13th January 2012[/editline]
Also i found a Gameboy emulator that can run on this CPU, thats like a huge reason for me to buy one already.. Hm.. A fat gameboy that can run 1080p movies

Extra credit if you shove it into a GameBoy Classic (fat model)

Though finding a reasonably priced screen you can hook up to the board while fitting it in the original screens spot would be incredibly hard.
Had an idea -
If you run it off a solar panel and use (of course to use 3 USB devices you'd need to use a USB hub) a USB wifi dongle, a USB webcam and a pair of wheels controlled by USB (the wheels would be controlled by USB but powered directly by the solar panel), then by having another wheel at the back you could have a small vehicle which can be controlled over the internet and stream its video data to a livestream service.
When I say about the other wheel at the back, I mean you would have the 2 at the front which can independently be on or off, so both on = straight forward, right on = turn left, left on = turn right.
The only possible issue is powering all of those devices and the board using just a solar panel, but otherwise it should certainly be doable.
Base it on a cheap & large RC car.
Should be possible to use the GPIO pins on the board + a microcontroller so it can control the wheels & steering.
Though it would probably be a good idea to forget about using solar panels and instead load it up with large Li-Ion cell(s)

Won't think it will fit, but i can try to make a larger gameboy from plastic, same green style and stuff
I have a feeling there will be accessories for this thing popping up (as in stuff like screens etc.)
At least I really hope so.
Time to rev up that motivation then
God, that's gonna be so awesome...
Friends: "Ew, you're still using that old ass handheld?"
Me: "Yeah, why not *starts Quake III or some impressive shit*"

Genius.
Just gonna make something that would like on some kind of new handheld console and then tell people that the creators gave me this super secret beta model
Damn, I really want to get into this, only my electrical engineering knowledge is ..sparse at best.
Anywhere I can go to read up on relevant shit without having to go through a five year course? :v:

Well, it's not really electrical engineering but computer programming that you should be looking at.
From what I've seen, Python is going to be the main language used on it, but it supports several other languages as well (and compiling compilers for other languages written in existing supported ones should be possible too).
My recommendation would be to learn some Python since it is really a good beginner language.
Unfortunately, I have no idea whether it will use Python 2.X or Python 3.X, which is important because they are significantly different.
Still, here's resources on both versions (I reckon it's probably 2.6 they are using but I can't be sure)
2.6 - http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Non-Programmer%27s_Tutorial_for_Python_2.6
3.0 - http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Non-Programmer%27s_Tutorial_for_Python_3.0

Nobody is going to be impressed by Quake 3 when the original PSP had better looking games.
Nobody is going to be impressed by Quake 3 when the original PSP had better looking games.
Do you realise the Q3 demo on the raspberry pi ran at 1080p? The PSP ran at 480x272, which is 16x smaller than 1080p, and to be honest I had a PSP and I didn't see any games significantly more impressive than Q3.
At a handheld resolution I expect it will be far more impressive than the PSP.

Name one?
[editline]14th January 2012[/editline]
uh, that isn't Silent Hill Origins, now that I think about it.
though there's still the fact that Q3 runs at a much higher resolution and with AA.
oh shit, if you put this into the huge GameBoy original like someone above said, and you had it run an emulator for your friend to play, but you edited the rom...

Pretty much any big-name exclusive. Rendering resolution is not relevant to the game's detail. Crysis at 320x240 would look better than quake 3.
Some off top of my head..
- the tomb raider games
- Daxter
- Ridge Racer
- soul caliber and tekken
- the metal gear solid game
- the final fantasy games
- motorstorm
- god of war
Also this

It's actually 60fps but the video's only 30.
Pretty much any big-name exclusive. Resolution is irrelevant. Crysis at 32x24 would look better than quake 3.
No, it really wouldn't.
Crysis at 480x272 would :)
It would be blurry if not running on a native 480x272 screen but still look superior to quake 3.
On a small screen, it would look very sharp.
Crysis at 480x272 would :)
It would be blurry but lovely.
Unless it's on a small screen where it would be sharp anyway.
And nothing's wrong with it, you just think it is. Look at the website you're on, do you think anybody here is going to think wearing makeup is cool? That's like going to a christian forum talking about evolution or going to a Gucci forum talking about Nike. Gaming guys + makeup = no.

Do you really think Quake 3 looks anywhere near as detailed as any of those games listed? If you are, you're clearly blinded by nostalgia.
