25$?
You got to be kidding me, I'm getting atleast few of those.
But how the hell are they able to produce these for so low price?
I mean either they're making absolutely 0 profit or the producing costs are like 1$ or so.
the SoC is cheap and outdated, and they have no protection to prevent shit-power from killing the device. They cut alot of corners and used cheap parts.
If any FPers have access to a 3d printer you should bang out a bunch of cases for this and sell them
If any FPers have access to a 3d printer you should bang out a bunch of cases for this and sell them
Isn't printing things really expensive?
If any FPers have access to a 3d printer you should bang out a bunch of cases for this and sell them
I don't think you know what 3D printers are used for.
Anyone else think this plus this will make for a great control system for models, or even robots and RC stuff?
I'm sure the Gert board has enough capability to do "RC stuff" alone. I think?

It was made by some guy at Broadcom, the SoC maker so I assume it would do its designed function well.

I can not put into words how much I want this because of reasons.

A laser cutter and some plastic. 3D printers are something different.
$25...hmmm I'm betting people will go wow $25! only to find something like only $25......+$30 international shipping...
I can not put into words how much I want this because of reasons.
I dont think it would fit in a mouse, the form factor changed since and is now the size of a credit card with the inclusion of GPIO pins and other accessories.
I can not put into words how much I want this because of reasons.
Computer... in a mouse?
Reminds me of the Commodore.
Windows is click 5 times and you're done, linux is more complicated.
Linux is complicated if you are a complete retard/never have heard of forums/google
I.E the average minecraft/ROBLOX user wouldnt be able to use it. Most kids, even consumer slave pop kids could figure out GNOME or X or something.
Windows is full of fuck.
Edit: Minecraftians rated me dumb :)
Got to get one and see for myself!
They're non-profit.
P.S. This thing runs on 5V, you can use your phone charger for power.
Can it run HL1
Or steam?
THAT IS THE QUESTION!
It won't run Wine :(
I'll buy one.
I'll get a large SD card, install Debian, install openssh-server, and then never fucking use it again.

Sounds about right.
there's already a thread first off
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1087642
second it performs roughly similar to a low end Pentium IV system so it's hardly a supercomputer
third, I want 40 of them.
is there any demo of it playing 1080 video?
[editline]8th January 2012[/editline]
oh wait theres one on their site

yeah basically this, But guess what? If there's nothing else atleast you can use it to effectively crack things.

What are you talking about man have you SEEN the latest penteeoomm processurs

Wine is just a compatibility layer to emulate all the win32 stuff, hence not an emulator
You would need to write an x86 emulator in arm to be able to run x86 programs, and that would be slow as fuck
Hmm i want to embed a raspberry in my body
Imagine how cool it would be to pull a plug out of your breast and insert it to a monitor, then pluggign a keyboard in your stomach and start playing quake?
Its nice to know that this thing actually gets released (in February woop) instead of it being just a concept or a kickstarter with a release date of 2015
Pretty damn cool. You could power it with a phone or iPod if you happen to have a USB charger.
One more question.. How much will the B model cost? I guess the A model is 25 but but the B one?
Difference between A and B is that B has 256MB RAM, a Ethernet port and a power rate of 700

Early Death would be easily worth it
