Well directly insulting someone is being a asshole too.
Argh. This is getting tedious. But no point in arguing anymore. I want one.
I don't know what kind of Class 10 SD card you're buying that takes an hour to transfer 100 raw image files. I think you're bullshitting to argue a point that's basically moot.
30Mb each. [editline]9th January 2012[/editline]
Argh. This is getting tedious. Or am I infering the wrong shit from a his rating.
30Mb each.
30MB each, on a class 10 card, should take 5 minutes. Methinks if you're not lying about a 1 hour wait time, there's some other variable you're not accounting for.
So what are you guys gonna do when you get your raspi's? I'm gonna build mine into a keyboard, atleast I hope I will be able to.
So what are you guys gonna do when you get your raspi's? I'm gonna build mine into a keyboard, atleast I hope I will be able to.
No idea. I was planning on having it host a basic local web environment for testing remote deployment of websites, or basically using it as an on-site VPS, or god knows what. It's a $25 PC so I'll buy one for the hell of it, if I'll actually use it...
I was under the impression this was a laptop :v:
So what are you guys gonna do when you get your raspi's? I'm gonna build mine into a keyboard, atleast I hope I will be able to.
Get a case for it and use it as a media player, showboat anytime someone brags about their new ipod.
It's funny how many possibilities there are for such a (relatively) limited device. I'm hoping to get a Model B, no clue what I'd do with it yet but the thing is so small I'm only limited by where a display is set up. I'm thinking media center. Or hell, I think there's an ARM-compatible version of MAME floating around somewhere, I have an arcade shelf so maybe I can set up an arcade system! Actually now that I think about it, the Model A doesn't seem so bad; the Ethernet cable would only tie it down somewhere and make it look less appealing. And it isn't that hard to transfer files over.
People must be shitty camera's if they use microSD cards. They have shit writetimes. Every device I've bought has SDHC slot.
You do know the HC part only stands for high capacity right? And that every single SD card, microSD included, that has a capacity higher than 2gb, is SDHC?
You do know the HC part only stands for high capacity right? And that every single SD card, microSD included, that has a capacity higher than 2gb, is SDHC?
Whats your point? Some devices only support SD. Or are you just.. what relavence can you possibly have with your statement there.
Whats your point? Some devices only support SD. Or are you just.. what relavence can you possibly have with your statement there.
That's why they ship MicroSD cards with the SD converters.
That's why they ship MicroSD cards with the SD converters.
??? What does SDHC have to do with converters Im missing the point here.
??? What does SDHC have to do with converters Im missing the point here.
I hope you're kidding.
So what are you guys gonna do when you get your raspi's? I'm gonna build mine into a keyboard, atleast I hope I will be able to.
Considering that from the first batch they're selling only 1 unit per person, probably the first thing i'll do is figure a cheap but effective way to power it up on the go, After that i'll probably attach it an antenna, put it in a box of somekind and see if there's any possibility of using it as a deployable rogue device of somesort. You know something you don't need to care about if you can't obtain it back. If that fails then i'll probably just stick it on my TV or something. But once they start mass producing them i guess quite a lot of things get "smart"(AKA, Pints with raspberry Pi's slapped to them), Expecially if there's an effective way of stacking them.
I hope you're kidding.
He was bitching because I said SDHC, and thought I had no clue what HC meant. Then you went on about MicroSD to SD converters.
He was bitching because I said SDHC, and thought I had no clue what HC meant. Then you went on about MicroSD to SD converters.
So are you referring to MicroSDHC or SDHC or what? You started complaining that I shorthanded MicroSD card to SD card and now you're confused because you stated some devices only support SD (If it's 2005 then maybe.)
So are you referring to MicroSDHC or SDHC or what? You started complaining that I shorthanded MicroSD card to SD card and now you're confused because you stated some devices only support SD (If it's 2005 then maybe.)
No Im confused because he said I dident know what SDHC meant, then you came in about microSD to SD converters. There are no SD to SDHC converters if thats what meant. Now stop arguing you cunts nobody cares anymore and its not even on topic, if you have nothing to do but argue go outside.

You say every device you've bought that has expandable storage has an SDHC slot. That means up to 32GB is supported - speed is down to the controller on the device and the class of the card you bought. 2. You said some devices only support SD. The Raspberry Pi is one of them. (It sports the physical SD size but supports SDHC capacities.) But MicroSD cards come with adapters to regular SD, so the size difference isn't really a problem. 3. Of course there are no SD to SDHC converters! SDHC obviously supports any capacity under 32GB.
Whats your point? Some devices only support SD. Or are you just.. what relavence can you possibly have with your statement there.

People must be shitty camera's if they use microSD cards. They have shit writetimes. Every device I've bought has SDHC slot.
That your device has an SDHC slot doesn't mean that it isn't microSDHC, please stay consistent if you want other people to understand you. If you're going to add HC to SD you should also add it to microSD.
if you have nothing to do but argue go outside.
"If you have nothing better to do but post on a forum and engage in arguments like I am, go outside because you aren't spending your time wisely"
"If you have nothing better to do but post on a forum and engage in arguments like I am, go outside because you aren't spending your time wisely"
I thought forums were all about conversation anyway. Naturally he started this wonderful whole-page debacle about stupid shit by complaining about a very common shorthanding of the name of the most common expandable storage standard.
Holy shit you guys are so retarded. I give up on Protocol7 and that other Dutch guy If a card reader does not support HC it cannot use a HC card, plain and simple. I'm not sure why you insist on waving your penises around over false logic. Cite your sources please then maybe you will have some credability.

Getting back on topic, if I were to get a model A and eventually get a wifi usb adapter, would I need to find one that is compatible with ARM? And if so, how difficult would it be to find one?
Haha you're such a dumb person, a non-SDHC capable controller cannot read a SDHC card.
Again, please find where I said that will work, or regain your composure and leave the thread. At this point you're just flinging around insults because someone who actually knows more than you proved you wrong (funny how that works.)
Both of you SHUT UP.
