'99 Honda Civic, the stereotypical first used car. I love it to death, reliable, relatively safe, economical, and in great condition. It still looks really nice too (none of that tuner shit).
Edit:
Not mine, just a quick picture I found.

All civics from 1995 to 2003 look pretty much exactly the same :v:
Learning in 2 years :saddowns:
I'm learning to drive again, I failed my first 3 tests. I was quite annoyed becuase it wasn't EXTREMELY bad. But i've started to drive again, I took a break from it over christmas to get some more money.
I had a lesson last week, and got another one on wednesday at 11am.
I love to drive, plus it gets you out more. Which is what I need becuase I'm usually stuck indoors.
I've got my second driving lesson tomorrow.
Scary as fuck :v:
Almost finished with Segment 1. Got 5 out of 6 drives done with the instructor and we have 4 more classes. Too bad I gotta wait till October to get mah license! Damn you Michigan Laws!
Oh and I'll be driving this as my main car. '99 GMC Jimmy

And sometimes this, if my parents don't mind. '01 Grand Prix GTP

Both my parents, but I've got a deal with them that I drive the Jimmy all I want if I pay for the insurance on it.
My area is full of kids who get their parents to pay for their car, insurance, petrol etc. pisses me right off.
Fucking love it when they crash within a week of getting their licence though.

My father's purchasing my car, insurance, and gasoline; although I'm a rather exceptional driver. I'm just thinking that you're a bit angry that your parents aren't as successful as the parents of your peers..

I actually feel sorta the same way as what LUHG thinks. Only a little less spiteful. I don't mind people getting their cars and insurance and gas purchased by their parents. But why does it always have to be the damn snobby kids or the kids who don't deserve it.

That doesn't belong here edberg, this thread is for slow, cheap cars driven by 15 year olds

Fuck yeah old grandma car!
Seriously, bought it from this older guy, it used to be his moms but she died recently, paid less than 1000$ for it and it had less than 80,000 miles on it :v: it's has a bunch of weird quirky problems though, and vibrates like I'm a 14 year old girl.
I paid for my car,
my insurance
and my PETROL
:/

Now I'm going to stray from my first topic and sort of agree with the both of you. I do attend a school where everyone also receives their vehicle etc., but the way most of these snobs abuse transportation is just pitiful. I know one kid who's father owns the garbage company that serves a large portion of the county. He got high class car, if I recall it was a Mercedes or something of that sort. Within a month of owning it, he got pulled over on I-95 for hitting 120+ in a 60m.p.h lane. Getting his license revoked in a few weeks, but I'm sure that's nothing a little money can't help.
Not everyone deserves a car, but most teenagers get one, and abuse it to the fullest of their abilities.
I tried to drive an atm once but it was bolted to the floor

Had my license and car for 5 months now, driving age in Norway is 18 :v:
this thread is for slow, cheap cars driven by 15 year olds
The driving age in America kinda scares me. I don't think 15 year olds should be behind the wheel :geno:
Had my first lesson today.
Not sure how other countries go but in the UK:
Hour Lesson is around £22. (Average is between 30 and 50 hours of lessons) So in total about £900
Cars vary but i'd say the average would be £2000 on the first car.
Insurance on an old, small car with a low powered engine is £1300/year for me.
Tests: Theory is £31 and Practical is £62-75 depending on when you do it.
License is £50.
So for the first year of driving in the UK for the average male who passes first time is:
£4,355 ($6,660). May not sound like a huge amount but its a hell of a lot for a 17 year old. Especially when their parents won't pay a penny.
Insurance cost goes down year by year if you manage not to crash.
Would be interesting too know how much it costs for other countries.
For price in dollars, times by 1.5.
Passed back in November. I drive a VW Polo :D
