This could never happend in sweden, It's illegal for the schools to teach about what politcal party is "the best" which is worse than others etc etc, only pure facts none of your / the teachers own values. It's PATHETIC how Americans look down on socialism, eventhough your current situation is shitty. Your healthcare is pathetic and you all know it and complain about it, but doing something against it is bad because It's "socialism".. Doubt 90% of the people who use that word doesn't even know what it means! Listen to how Sweden works, every citizen pays a membership fee to be part of this country (others might call it taxes.) this membership guarantees you free healthcare, free dental care until you're 21, then you have to finance it yourself (for the mostpart.) We have a priceroof on our medicines, you simply can not pay more than 2000kr for the medicines, eventhough they actually would cost you 40 000kr. The Swedish education has a very high standard compared to many other countries, we don't have to pay for any education at all. The same year that I turn 19, I have the same knowledge / my degrees would actually mean more than your college degree, that's how inefficient your system is! Yes, when it comes to politics I do nothing but congratulate Sweden for It's awesomeness, we have had our ups and downs. But seriously, any country that has the pirate-party as a serious political party can not be anything but awesome, agreed? :D
I think a lot of people in the USA would agree this is a bit overboard. I personally believe that the government shouldn't provide luxuries, only the necessities.
Ain't that funny, I live in a small town in Oklahoma, and everybody watched the Obama thing here. Good ol' South.
I geuss you'll like this video It's related to school so not really of topic
they are being trained to kill elderly white people like me D:
I think a lot of people in the USA would agree this is a bit overboard. I personally believe that the government shouldn't provide luxuries, only the necessities.
Would you be kind to define the luxuries? In Sweden we believe everyone deserves a good life and we all work to give everyone the best possible foundation to stand on, which pretty much means education, healthcare etc etc.
I think a lot of people in the USA would agree this is a bit overboard. I personally believe that the government shouldn't provide luxuries, only the necessities.
Medicine, hospitals and third-level education are only for the few then? Ninjas, everywhere :ninja:
I live in Ohio
found your problem right there
only in america
No, no. Only in Ohio.
Medicine, hospitals and third-level education are only for the few then? Ninjas, everywhere :ninja:
Actually education and life would fit well into necessity in any first-world country.
bush is better
No, no. Only in Ohio.
What about Texas?
Actually education and life would fit well into necessity in any first-world country.
And not for third-world countries?
OP, call and report this shit to the media.
bush is better
Yeah, with Bush it would have been like:"See how dumb the president is? You don't want to be that dumb, do you? So better go to school and pay attention in English classes!"
My school didn't show the speech to us for some reason, im glad. I dont want to be filled with democratic bullshit. Go Facism.
And not for third-world countries?
I think working on stabilizing the country should be the foremost goal of a third-world country government.
It's funny how people say democrats are bullshitters. As far as I know democracy essentially means what the majority thinks of something, if 60% of the people think one way is better, then that is the way to go etc etc. Then why call democrats bullshitters? If giving the entire population ebola would only benefit 40% of the population, why would you do it? Because otherwise you are being democratic and thus being full of bullshit? Bad example yes but bashing democracy needs to be backed up with good arguments.
why do people suddenly think obama is a communist?
Suddenly? That was going on before he was elected. [editline]09:52PM[/editline] lol, he said "Studding" instead of "Studying." Still makes less mistakes in his speeches than Bush.
Boy, after reading the Something Awful LF section for a while I forgot how utterly immature Facepunch is in any matter even vaguely political.
It is funny, everyone wants to put importance of education but they will not let the one person who is highly influential say school is important.
That's the thing with democracy, it only works when you agree with it, then it's better to favour a totalitarian government.
I love how everybody is so caught up in their own bullshit that they can't take a fucking step back and realize they're all tearing the country in two. Hurray for stupid people
You didn't miss much Obama is a socialist moron anyway. That being said your school district must be as insane as he is to restrict the broadcast. By no means is he telling the people anything highschool students wouldn't understand. Besides if they don't want you to know how bad he really is they could just not tell you about what laws he is passing....
Its the parents that are brainwashing the kids with all that creationism bullshit.
This.
I just started high school 2 weeks ago and I love it, we watched this in our history class where the teacher is unbiased in the teaching but personally dislikes the public school system. This is in the US by the way.
But uh, seriously, send a formal letter to the white house that your school did this. If you're lucky enough and it gets through, school will be in for some major reform.
Ohio? I live in Kentucky and I got to hear it. Your superintendent is just a dumbass.

My school was going to do it, but decided not to because parents started sending bitching e-mails to the district.
Wait, don't parents already encourage their children to work for their goals?
