Because a lot don't. Do you think a teen who is angsty against his parents would listen to them more than the president?
I feel embarresed to live in America
Same here, sucks to be in Ohio, you in the Lakota school district?
Same here, sucks to be in Ohio, you in the Lakota school district?
Lakota, as in Lakota West? That's barely a 15 minute drive from where I live. Ha, we (Indian Hill) kicked your ass in Mock Trial, HARD.
Obama = communist? I wouldn't go that far. I do believe his socialists ideas are bad for America though.
Only some classes in my school showed it but most didn't because they don't care about him.

So I guess now that everyone who watches fox news and is currently in public education will fail now because Obama told them to achieve.
My school didn't show it either :frown: There wasn't anything preventing the teachers from doing it (that I know of,) they just didn't. Then again I live in a middle-of-nowhere hick town so...
Alright, so I'm starting this thread to ode the sheer stupidity to the area in which my high school exists. So as you may have heard if you live in America, Obama had a speech to the students of America basically telling them to stay in school and what not. But my school district, uniquely to the my area, decided to restrict teachers on pain of being fired not to show his speech believing "It may encourage the students to support a cause they do not have the capacity to understand(btw, I'm in high school), and may put us at risk if a fascist/touchy speech was made". WTF did he think he was going to say?! "My young comrades please revert work hours towards that of wheat fields and glorius tractor factory, SCHOOL IS BAD! TEACHER=GYPSY! EDUCATION IS FOR CAPITALIST DOG!" So if I may ask has this happened to anyone else within this shitstorm we call America? If not than how many actually got to see his speech in school? If its any consolation I live in Ohio AKA 7th level of hell Edit: Kudos for who rated me optimistic about Ohio being the 7th level of Hell
You live in the 7th level of hell? Try me, the first level of hell. Mississippi. I hate all the wanna be urban country kids who drive lifted F250's by themselves in the dozens.
Commie!
Well he is...
OP, call and report this shit to the media.
It happened in like 3 other counties in Ohio and it was already in the news paper so im pretty sure there will be letters to the editor right around the corner
Ohio? I live in Kentucky and I got to hear it. Your superintendent is just a dumbass.
She is... she gave us 2 snow days for this year when usually we end up getting a week off in the Winter, which we will have to make up Also, I live in the school district of Columbiana County south of Youngstown, or about 1mile above Satans layer for those corridinated in height
I'm still flabbergasted at the raging people did over this. I mean, I seriously just can't comprehend what the hell is wrong with people. I know there are people out there paranoid, but jesus christ he stopped all the concern by releasing the speech online. And they're STILL not ok with it? I just don't get it.
OP, memorize the text of the speech and then walk down the halls yelling it.
Indian Hill? Rich kid. :| Glen Este (graduate,) yo.
I wouldn't call myself Rich, I would call myself Middle-Class. I lived in Kenwood, not Indian Hill itself.
My school called around the day prior saying that since some teachers were going to show the president's "very controversial" speech, students were permitted to skip the day if "their beliefs didn't coincide". I can imagine the parents reactions to this speech. "WHAT? YOU'RE TELLING MY CHILDREN THEY'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN FUTURE? HOW DARE YOU"
feh. They say it's political indoctrination. I'm a progressive democrat who watched all of Bush's speeches throughout school. Why is it that since a democrat's in power (and a black one at that), that he's automatically socialist/communist? I mean... every western nation has adopted a public healthcare plan, but just because it goes against the status quo in America, the idea of socialized medicine is suddenly communism?
They also blocked Adobe Flash Player from working yesterday. My teachers where pissed cause many of them look up CNN or other news channels in their spare time. And most of my raging teachers say its likely because they want to make sure teachers don't show it. My school district is slowly falling apart, I think a moderate nuclear explosion may sort the area out better than it is now People in other schools got to watch it and had a cool essay or something to do on what they thought about it. I'm going to request tomorrow for my teacher to assign a essay on how America has tried to completely tune out and hault in Communist ideas since... forever. That or how much my Superintendant is a cuntzord and needs to be repeatedly beaten with a sack o' crows.

Really? All my teachers in my school are always ranting about Republicans to my class. It's actually really annoying. I hate political bias.
I geuss you'll like this video It's related to school so not really of topic
Horrible Skit. Alice in Wonderland was better. My school didn't show the speech either, don't know why.
But uh, seriously, send a formal letter to the white house that your school did this. That's literally a 1 minute car ride from where I live, hell I WALK there commonly.
Be happy, obama sucks.
My school was just too lazy to show it.
