These threads make me so sad, I hope she ends up ok.
the people who rated this dumb and funny need to be hit by a car
Holy fuck I hope she comes out OK. much love to you [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] also i hope the little shit who drove off kills themselves.
I feel for you OP, but should you really be letting her go without a leash in a neighborhood, even if she's properly trained? My dog can walk fine without a leash and always returns when called but I only let her roam once we're deep in the forest.
Oh god, this is really sad. I used to have 4 animals which died - 2 parrots - 1 almost drowned, then he lost ability to fly, he got sick and died in the vet clinic, and second one died during the loud thunderstorm - his little heart didnt stand it, and he died too. Then was an turtle - it died on the 3rd day of living with me. Drowned too - it broke an pillar, and stone fell on it. Then was an djungarian hamster - his death was the best, i suppose - he just slept and died, because he was too old. Now i have 2 cats. And i really hope that nothing bad will happen to them. Otherwise, i feel you pain, OP. I know how it feels.
My dog got hit when my family decided camping in the front lawn was a good idea. (My step-dad was drunk and took her leash off, which had been attached to a pole in the ground.) She ran across the street, and after about 5 minutes I got up and called her name. She came out from behind their fence and ran across...got hit. She was DOA. (The people came back in their car a few seconds after hitting her, realizing what just happened. My mom refused to go with them to the vet, and ended up taking 5-10 minutes to get her car started.)
I don't give a fuck. (User was banned for this post ("Trolling / Being an idiot / Stop behaving like an idiot or you'll get permabanned" - Swebonny))
I don't give a fuck.
:frog: I hope your dog makes it out okay OP, I can't imagine this happening to my dog.
I don't give a fuck.
Hey mods perma this guy Look how many chances he's had
All dog owners posting here are incredibly sad. Cat owners are lurking in the corners, watching the strange people mourn over the dog...

Seriously, how can people rate this dumb or funny? This story is so sad, I shed a tear. I feel for you man. Back when I had a cat 6 years ago, it went out for the night, and didn't come back for 3 days. We looked for her, to find her lying dead behind a cabbin in the neighbor's garage. We burried her in a lot infront of the house. Now there's an appartment building on her grave, and I hope it hunts them in their sleep. Now I have a dog for 5 years. He was hit by a car once or twice, but nothing serious happend, he just had to stay at the vet for two days, and then get some kind of pill for three days and now he is fine. He is one tough doberman. :unsmith:

Friggin cabbies acting like they own the road...
I feel sorry for you, OP. I lost my own boxer last year so this brought me to tears. He died of cancer.
If the cab driver would have stopped atleast it would have been forgiveable But just speeding, running over dog, continue like nothing happens... Hope that asshole gets run over
The same exact thing happened to me OP... but my dog died immediately. I really hope it's okay, though, and I really hope it gets a second chance at life.
Thank you all for the kind words, really. Also, update: We called the vet and he said that she's walking, which is good. When we brought her, I carried her in my arms into the jeep, and from the jeep into the vets. We just hope there's no internal problems or brain damage...
I watched my first dog get hit by a car, too. He stopped, though, and was really sorry about it.
One time my dog came back without half of his ear, the blood was everywhere, I have never seen so much blood in my life, and I wouldn't believe it all came from one small dog. You could taste the blood if you'd breathe with your mouth. My mom passed out.
The cab driver is at fault for speeding illegally in a residential area, but its also the OP's fault. Use your brains when you think about letting your dog run around freely in a residential area. Also calling your dog to come home from across the street without even checking for oncoming cars is another mistake. Keep your dog in a fenced yard, on a leash, or in the house, don't give him the freedom to run across a neighborhood because you don't know who the fuck will come driving by and hit it.
You said the passenger in the cab got out and came back, correct? Ask them what time they called the cab and to where the fare was. Then call the cab company and threaten legal action unless they release the driver's name and number, etc. Best of luck to you and your dog :h:
Oh my god, what an absolutely gorgeous dog. I am a boxer owner myself. What a fucking shame, I hope she pulls through. And it doesn't sound corny, there's nothing to be ashamed of for growing attached to your animals. I went for a drive to get some lunch at work last night and on my way back, a cab swerved around me because I guess doing 10 over the limit was too slow for him. Guy books it down the road doing 80 in a 50.
Happened to my dog too :saddowns: mine didn't make it, but I hope yours does :h:
Isn't it illegal to hit someone's pet and just drive off? You should ask the passenger for details about the cab.
Reminds me of when my cousin's cat was shot (yes, shot) by some assholes. He survived though. Hope everything turns out ok!
Ugh. I hope your dog gets better, OP. And Carne, your post reminded me of when my cat was beaten with hockey sticks.
Isn't it illegal to hit someone's pet and just drive off? Also, destruction of property charges, leaving the scene of an accident, leaving the scene of a crime, animal cruelty, there's a whole fuckload of charges you can take this guy to court for... veterinarian bills, etc. You can bleed the cab driver dry, so to speak.
Reminds me of when my cousin's cat was shot (yes, shot) by some assholes. He survived though.
That is one badass motherfucker.
