so sad...:smith:
so wait, she's not confirmed whether she will survive or die yet right? at least there's hope, OP. dogs really are part of the family, when my dog ran away it was probably the worse night of my life, but just keep thinking to yourself that she'll make it through, and she will. thats what i did, and he was returned by some woman driving through the neighborhood the next day.
The passenger, who was being dropped off a few houses down, told us that the cab was indeed speeding. Going 55 in a 30 zone. That might not be that bad, but I'm sure if he was going slower it would've changed things a lot.. The passenger is going to come back later. He said he knows what the cab driver looks like and where he lives. My mother wants to get the police involved. Personally, I see it as an accident, but as I said before; he could've been watching and been going slower, but it's still a Hit and Run.
55 in a 30 isn't that bad? Are you insane? That's 25 miles over the speed limit. Wait are we talking about mph or kph here?
Fuck dude, I feel for you and your dog. It sounds like she'll be okay since she's walking and all.
Please update us :3:
Oh my god, what an absolutely gorgeous dog. I am a boxer owner myself. What a fucking shame, I hope she pulls through. And it doesn't sound corny, there's nothing to be ashamed of for growing attached to your animals. [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] The cabs around here are fucking maniacs. I went for a drive to get some lunch at work last night and on my way back, a cab swerved around me because I guess doing 10 over the limit was too slow for him. Guy books it down the road doing 80 in a 50.
Then if the cabs are maniacs it would be a smart bet to leave your dog in a secured area away from a street? The OP should have been thinking before letting a little kid let loose a dog to run across the street. Most pet stories on facepunch involving a accident always turn out to be the fault of the original poster because it seems most people don't give a damn about keeping their pets safe and more about letting them run around freely.
was his name kerpal? the driver and did he have a daughter
Lemme guess. Your daughter come over and kick my dog?
Get the name of the cab company? Ruin that assholes job security for driving off. Accidents happen, but the fact that he drove off is disgusting. I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I hope your dog is okay.
My pet cat who I loved dearly was run over right in front of me. He wanted outside so I opened the door, and he took off to a neighbor's yard across the street when he was hit. He survived being run over and ran away, I couldn't catch him and bring him back since he was still able to haul ass. A few days later he came back to the house and he seemed to be fine, he purred when petted and didn't seem to be hurt. My parents let him outside later one more time and I never saw him again.
The Dog in the movie is white.
Don't throw your dog outside without a leash. Stupid idiot. [editline]9th June 2011[/editline]
The Dog in the movie is white.
Yellow lab
I have a Boxer for a dog the damn dog ran into a Car twice over trying to eat the car's tires don't know how that dog is alive. And Godspeed to your dog, hope she makes a fast recovery.
Don't throw your dog outside without a leash. Stupid idiot. [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] Yellow lab
:frog: Did you even read it? He didn't let him outside, his brother did and the dog ran across the street to play with another dog. I say sue the cab driver. If that happened to my dogs, I'd be crying for days. Fournately, my 2 dogs are VERY close and if they run away, they run away together. And we always find them together. It's amazing. But I feel for you, dogs are man's best friend.. :smith:
55 in a 30 isn't that bad? Are you insane? That's 25 miles over the speed limit. Wait are we talking about mph or kph here?
op is canadian, so I'm assuming kph. also op, didn't you say in the hedgehog thread that your mom works for the police or something? either way, we had to put my dog down recently, he was really old. It got to the point where he woke up one day and couldn't stand up or walk. We probably should have done it sooner, I bet he was in a lot of pain but it's so hard because they are family. I know he's happy now though, he had a big smile on his face when it was all over :unsmith: I hope your dog makes it, the fact that its walking is great!
Update, my mom went see her at the vet. She's walking okay, and was really happy to see my mom. So she recognizes people, meaning it's highly unlikely she has brain problems. The vet will do some X-rays soon to see if anything is broken inside. If there isn't, she should be okay except for all the scratches over her body  .. But she can't do much since it's not on the same territory. Also, about the cab... Tomorrow , the passenger that was in the car when it bumped my dog, should pass by. He said he lives down the street. We'll see what we do from there. Once again, thank you all for the nice words :unsmith: ..
So she's gonna be okay? :buddy:
We hope. She might have something broken inside of her, thought. When we found her she was drooling blood and coughing it up. I'll keep you guys updated  .
I always freak out the when someone (or an animal, in this case) gets hit by a car. One of my classmates died about three moths ago, he was ran over by a car, he was alone and it was dark, the car ran away (the medics assume it was a bigass 4x4 truck because of the scars), a married couple of doctors found him laying on the street, he was still alive, took him to emergency but died an hour later of a heart failure. Never really talked to the guy but it really shocked me.
I feel for you man, I really do. Hope it all works out for you.
I hope your dog makes it through. I love my dog as much as you do yours.
I just felt like I wanted to let people saying it was my fault know that really, it kind of was but it was not entirely my fault. So, using google maps, i've made a small picture to show you guys; Right, so I blocked off my street address and street name with black. I don't really care that much about internet privacy, and if you find out where I live because of that well congrats! Now, the blue is my house. To the left side you can see the driveway, which leads into a pretty big yard. We let her out by the back, she usually stays in the back yard but sometimes, as I've said before, runs out in the front. The pink is my front neighbours house, and you can see his front yard. The red is where is black lab usually stays, and where my dog went to play with him. The yellow spot is where she got hit. So really, if the guy wasn't going 50 in a 30 zone he could've had time to stop her; and most caring people slow down when children/animals are near the street. Imagine if we replaced the fact that it was a dog that got hit, and instead, it was a child. Sure, I do take some blame. I shouldn't of let my younger brother let her out. I should've been more watchfull, but please, stop saying it's all my fault and that I'm the idiot..
Also, really ITT: Why half of the US shouldent have driving licenses I think in some states there was only even a just a writing test, failed? Redo for $50
I hope your dog will make a full recovery OP.
Good luck! Your dog is adorable and I hope everything goes well.
I have a dog too, so this makes me feel sad :frown: Best of luck to your boxer
Also, really ITT: Why half of the US shouldent have driving licenses I think in some states there was only even a just a writing test, failed? Redo for $50
Except this was in Canada.
I seriously hope your dog gets better, OP. If some idiot would have done anything to my dog, I don't know WHAT the hell I would do.
"Fuckin' hit my dog, ese. You fucked up now, pinche... You fucked him up for life, eh! He's scarred! "
OP, i'll let you borrow my truck. It's strong so it won't take much damage when you run this mother fucker off the road and repeatedly ram him into the guard rail and pin him between the bumper and the rail. It's got plenty of power so you can probably cut him in half while you're at it. [editline]10th June 2011[/editline] Blood washes off.
