Got my SAT scores last night at 4 am. I scored decently but i know for a FACT i could do better. I got 1110 out of 1600 and out of 2400 i got 1650.
My critical reading was almost perfect with a very high score, but my math was borderline below average.

That's pretty good.
Ugh to get into MIT I need a 33 on the ACT and I got a 29... Looks like I'll be taking it again next year.
I never took an SAT and I'm graduating in 14 days (hopefully)
Screw my future. I ain't never touched a book but I PARTY ALL NIGHT
So in America it's not just enough to have good grades to get into the college you want but you also have to do well enough on a standardized test? Yet another reason why the other countries are beating you.

Anyone here know how to COMPLETELY disable DEP on a vista 64-bit computer? I've turned it off in the cmd using the 'bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff' line, but it's still running.

Uh, no, standardized testing provides a standardized metric by which to judge the capabilities and performance of a student.
With the varying difficulties of AP and Honors courses relative to standard ones, combined with the absolutely massive amount of variation between schools, just grades alone aren't a useful indicator at all of how good of a student a college applicant is.
Case in point: I was a B-average student all through high school. I got a 2240 on the SAT, which ranks me in the upper 98th percentile. I know people at college who were straight-A students but did far worse than me on the SAT, because they went to less competitive schools and/or took fewer 'advanced' courses.
tl;dr Grades != smarts

Do this and see if the problem persists- command prompt is finicky and can easily screw up.
Yeah grades are terrible at evaluating intelligence; but even then neither do standardized tests. I got an 1850 on the SAT and I thought that I was going to get around a 2100-2200 because that is legitimately how smart I feel that I am, even my dad said that he thinks I should have gotten a score around that.
I took the SAT in 7th grade as a part of some program. I got a 1690. I have no clue on how to dissect that though. I don't have the papers anymore.
[editline]29th May 2011[/editline]
Someone told me the correct scoring would have been two perfect scores under math and reading and a 90 under writing..
I'd believe that since I cannot write for shit :v:

Sounds like a perfect example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect!
Naw, I'm just kidding you- I agree that standardized testing isn't perfect, but it tests general abilities and basic processes rather than rote memorization of specialized facts, which makes it much more useful in gauging intelligence. Anyone can memorize the sound bites touted as knowledge in high school, but far more important is the ability to internalize and apply the processes learned. And most importantly, there's just one test that's given to everyone, so all applicants are on a level playing field.

Should be. I've read somewhere though that 64-bit computers can't actually run some programs without DEP or someshit. Not sure.

No, actually.
It all varies really depending on the school. Most, if not all schools base acceptance on 2/3rds GPA and 1/3 SAT score.

Also yay home from work.
Money was made, and money was spent. I also found a gallon jug of unopened Sunny D in a theatre.

Also picked up Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas, the novel.

They use blanks for parades like that. The asshole behind him didn't know what he was doing, aimed too low and the gasses ended up blowing his hat off.
