[QUOTE=pronnie;24267140]i would love to see a PW just ending.. not dying :v:[/QUOTE] me and Elf did a 1v1 that ended. [editline]02:54PM[/editline] Live and Spartan, make an RP. Leon is itching to join a proper one, not one with no direction and random shit in it. cough.
So is james. :(
techno u got merceneries going on , you seem inactive , go help your buddies :(
I have, jesus. I am waiting to see what the fuck happens. We have a douche firing at the police and a heavy standing there and Leon running to a boat. I have no idea on what to do.
use your sniper and with 1 bullet do multiple headshot
No. That is something called meta-gaming.
meta-gaming is when you cheat and see whats around walls and shit but your char couldn't. that's just being overpowered.
I can work with Spartan on ideas and storylines, as well as stuff like events etc, together we can make an RP work awesomely, but we need to combine both of our RP skills, as well as Spartans mapmaking.
You always seem to have a good concept and story, live; that's why I love your RPs.

Thanks Spartan, but thats the problem, everyone wants to see action and there own story driven by the players, if i force a story concept on anyone now in an RP people complain they can't do anything and the RP dies, but when they form the story themselves and i just add random events or whatever, The RP devolves into gunplay and usually swearing randomly in different settings, for example, In Space Station 13, the story was going somewhere completely different in my head, but of course the players destroyed me first, which was fine, because the RP was my first and one of my most epicly made, even though it had a shitty map made my me and a stolen PPW background, For this reason The Village has been the best so far because i managed to incorporate as much storytelling and control over the players, while living them free to develop their characters and get a bit of action while everything progressed around them, so for these reasons, Spartan and I need to make an RP where: 1. The Plotline is controlled by GMs and solely the GMs, but not exclusive to them 2. It is set in a very RP like area full of interesting concepts (Ghostlike Village with strangely acting NPCs? Or what about a buzzing city with a very dark goverment working behind closed doors, i like to think about Hot Fuzz when i think about plot development, because everything seems so simple, then goes to absolutely crazy in less than maybe 20 minutes.) 3.A well made perfectly designed map for RP by Spartan, something that i doubt will be hard to pull off with some CC 4. It will have to have action in it (Sadly this is neccesary, but not a bad thing, in Every RP, people have had to fight no matter what, even if it is against other players, which is what i want to encourage, which will be expanded on the next point.) 5. We will have to encourage players to do things they would not normally focus on. (Of course, this does not mean you have to sleep at night, Or simply stay in your house or apartment and watch TV, we want to encourage interesting concepts carried out by the player, For example, instead of encouraging action, which is what none of the players need, because in every RP there has always been a fire, a gunfight, or someone jumping through a window, or all of them, we want to encourage freedom, allowing players not to be confined to things, for example FP Island, instead of walking around on streets or perhaps driving a car earnt with money over maybe 12 pages of declaring pointlessly moving back and forth waiting for a cool event to happen. You could instead start in different positions, if a player wants to play a homeless person who RPs well, why not let them? Just because people need a job for the RP to work, doesnt mean the Players couldnt decide how the RP has to be like before whatever happens, Rich players living over the poor, people with interesting jobs and others gives a little more spice to something that was walking around buying stuff and talking to people. but thats just one example, another encouragement is to make relationships, and support the story, for example Bob the Cheese Seller on FP Island is a poor simple merchant who lives on the streets selling Danish Blue which he stole from the shop opposite run by Grace Hawkins, These two quickly make friends as they both sell cheese nearby to eachother, this is different from the norm if you think about it, its a poor example, but if anyone knows Grace in her prime she would probably find out using some crazy RP bullshit, no offence Spartan, just as an example to everyone, and attack him, which stirs up action, which deters from the story that the GMs are trying to create, support the story whenever you can as a player, dont try to be the hero, and dont try to break it) And note that when i say we, im referring to myself, i do not know Spartans opinion on this stuff. Phew that took a while.
have you ever thinked about making sotryline that gives few options to player but ends up the way you wanted? you know how they make it in most of games , you limit player and his ideas to basic or few options but it all ends up the way you wanted?
Live I pretty much agree with what you've said. Whenever I RP I give my characters a quirk which helps and hinders them throughout the story. Usually Leon has a weakness for women and chases them around the whole map, and when he's fighting people if there is a woman on the opposing side (who is hot enough) he'll purposefully miss or stop shooting. In FP Island my character was the Police Chief and his personality went from timid to dictatorial when he put on a gasmask. Weird shit like that adds fun to the player and also spices up the RP. You just have to be careful you don't make yourself OP or annoying to other players, and it makes things much better.
One thing I hate is when people make their characters boring. They give a really short and conventional bio which makes the character look like part of the scenery. A guy with jeans and and a t-shirt named Bob who just walks around the map aimlessly isn't and exciting character. Then the player complains that this is boring and they want action; when it's their own fault because their character is stale bread.
Is James boring? :ohdear:
He could have a nice quirk, the only thing that sets him apart is that he always has his faithful companion :v:
I love Rascal. <3. Anyway, suggest a quirk...
Cat lady goes "nomnomnom"

Leon is a moderately-narcissistic lady killer. :)
Nudist serial killer chav it is then
Yes valiant... or synth, your one of the good RPers among the very small bunch that like RPs now. [editline]08:20PM[/editline] And spartan dont forgot Alchoholic Posh Old Man!
I moaned that I was bored in FP Island. I tell you, I was not a man named Bob. My story line was also rejected. In fact, I was a gay monk who had an attraction for men, usually forcing them into rape with guns. I had an obsession with God, even though I believed he did not exist, I always, except for when sleeping, wore my robe and nothing else. Running was hindered by the robe. I had the strangest accent. I got bored for a few reasons: - A flood wasn't really interesting when all I had to do was sit in a metro. - Diseased people was like meh cleansed bluaha. - Everyone was like "hai i am cop, die punk" - I wasn't allowed to pull out an AK :frown: (that would of made an epic rape storyline too!) Overall I think more freedom is needed. A role-play should be created that has no definite direction. You, Live, should have a basic plan: but you should allow the plan to change completely, instead of dictating it the way you want. Let players have guns, let them do whatever they want - of course to an extent - but that's how it's fun. Then again you have to have trusted and experienced players for that; otherwise you will get certain people running around blowing everyone's heads off (I'd like to have an empty gun, for example, to force people up against walls and crap; I don't plan on shooting anyone because shooting people is boring - unless you shoot them in the leg or something then go "OH FAZAK" and pretend it was an accident while trying to cleanse them). Anyway, you get the point (well you probably don't but yeah).
Yes i know what you mean, and i'd love to make an RP that works, which i can easily set up, at the cost of their being little story and more pew pew, if i allow people to have guns then everyone would want one no matter what, and if i restricted it so people can only have certain amount of ammo or only few have guns, people would complain how OP others are etc. I want an RP where no one has a gun for once, whats so exciting about a bit of metal that shoots another bit of metal? I want to see people in a modern setting fighting off evil shadow monsters at night with fire bottles made out of beer they bought a few hours earlier, i dont like it when people think they can conjure weapons out of nowhere no matter the character. Guns are all fine and dandy, but to me their more boring than anything unless in the right circumstances, people need to acquire guns, only when they need them in an RP, unless the rules demand they start with one.
In the Wasteland, you start with a gun if you're a soldier for the Gov or the Anarchs. And of course, Traders. No one else gets a gun, unless they trade for one. And the only way they will be able to trade for one is if they wander the wastes, where there are mutants and environmental dangers. Or, if they contract for Anarchs or Government. It's gonna sort of be like quests, but not really. If a Loner wants to spice up his RP, he can visit a faction leader (Spartan [anarch] Binkow [gov] or Valiant [trader]) and we may or may not be willing to supply him in exchange for a service. (bring back a computer, or bring back two government heads) Hell maybe even perform a hit on another player. Does that sound alright? I'm makin it up as I go.
Sounds cool. But we need some direction. Absoulte chaos is fun for awhile, but after a bit I get sick of it. We need some form of story over the top of the chaos. Also, thinking of trying a RP after this one. I was going to ask Spartan on weather or not I could borrow his plane. It's going to be a plane hijacking. No one starts with weapons except the three terrorists and everyone by the end of the RP has to wrestle control of the plane from the terrorists. Improvised weapons and such will be in use.
Sounds cool, but knowing Jacque he'll just want a cup of tea with them. And would it be ok if in the RP im some sort of mix between gov and anarch? no one remembers me from the old days and i have a new identity from the goverments perspective, but i have the credentials to get passed most of the guards, and i am well known by the anarchists, but barely any of them trust me. So im kind of a loner that has been involved and is still involved with some factions. Oh god i can just imagine the goverment carrying out a hit on me :ohdear:

We'd need a multistory plane though for the hijacking part to work (like an airbus or something like that) as one long corridor isn't fun :v:
