How the fuck are you not banned again yet?
Anyway, i ain'ttoo big on em, never did like slipknot apart from Pulse of the faggots I MEAN maggots, and duality.
:v: i joke, they have a couple of songs i like to listen to every now and again but my gateway metal was pantera.
in your opinion
Indeed it is only in my opinion, thank you Racid for having my back, I feel we could make a great team don't you? :v:
Jesus fucking christ I can't believe how much people get pissed off over music. Fuck.
As long as there are two differnt people on earth there will always be disagreement.
I'm not too crazy about them. I like a couple songs, but they're just too... freaky.
On a related note: I'm looking for a song. Can't remember the name, but I'm pretty sure it's from them.
He goes: "--- It's the only thing----- *screams something here*" Little help?
Oh man I love Slipknot! My favorite song by them is Psychosocial. LOVE IT

The only song I can think of that does something like that is "Duality", there's the line "I push my fingers into my eyes / It's the only thing that seems to slow the ache", but there's no screaming in that part.

Duality
Woops im late
Updated mask pictures on the OP for a cleaner layout and for more correct information! :fuckyou:
I'm updating the media section too.
edit: Updated by adding whole discography as YT links! Wow, this turned out to be a whole thread revamp...
My favourite album is Slipknot and MFKR has some funky ass jazz parts which you wouldn't recognise as today's slipknot.
And if you haven't heard some of the slower songs I would go give them a listen (Vermillion Pt. 2)
As a side note sometimes i think the masks can look a bit faggy but i would like to know why they originally wore them, if anyone can answer this.

To express their 'alter-ego's' or something along those lines. I think some of the masks are stupid too, but Joey Jordison, Chris Fehn and Clown all have awesome masks.

They wanted people to admire their music, not who they were/are.

I still admire Joey Jordison as a drummer though :)
I dig the masks but I keep thinking they are a tad gimmicky. Either way they are excellent performers.

In the beginning of the song and the first chorus, there is. He first says "if the pain goes on... AAAAH!" and then "if the pain goes on, I'M NOT GONNA MAKE IT!", so there.
Slipknot is awesome

I was obsessed with this band back in 2000 when I first heard of 'em -I was 16 back then lol-... When "Iowa" came out, it didn't live up to my expectations so I gradually stopped listening to them... I personally think they've lost their touch (when comparing their latest releases with their early stuff) but I still respect them.
But I'll always like their first album and the impression it left on me, _Way_ too heavy for New Metal... it pretty much made it easy for me to listen and enjoy extreme metal bands I discovered later on...
EDIT: You might want to throw in "Eeyeore" -one of my faves, next to "Get This"- to the Self-titled album tracklist (as a hidden track)... just sayin' ;)

This has always been my favorite.

Still love Slipknot. :) Their newest album was surprisingly good.

But don't you think more attention is drawn to them while they're wearing masks.
Me and my friend are going to try and cover Vermillion Pt. 2
If I can get a good mic I might post it not that many people would care.

Also one of my favourite Slipknot Songs :

Oh man, I forgot Eeyore. Added. I'll add the rest of the bonus tracks too later.
I finally bought a slipknot album after listening to Vol 3 and AHiG songs on youtube. Their debut album is fucking awesome, so metal!

So. Fucking. True. Glad that you like it.
Be sure to get Iowa too.

I've heard some of the stuff from Iowa and I'm not so sure that I'd like it. I know that I like a few of the AHiG songs, so maybe that'll be my next Slipknot album.

Try these from Iowa: People = Shit, Disasterpiece, My Plague, Everything Ends, The Heretic Anthem, Left Behind, I am Hated, Metabolic.
You can find YT links on the OP
AHIG is equally awesome too
I broke my promise to not buy anymore music for a while (The other slipknot album was from a free voucher) and bought All Hope Is Gone. I feel bad and good about it at the same time. Ah well, it's awesome anyway.
wow realy good thread, you should mention the slipknot 10 year box thing :P XD Ive got it and its realy good :D
I just noticed that the beginning of Gematria (The Killing Name) sounds a little like the beginning of Slayer's Psychopathy Red.... Maybe it's just me.

Agree.
Iowa and Slipknot are the best albums. :D
There are much better bands, but, Dewp, no need to act superior. Music taste is subjective after all...
Lol

I only like their first album (not the demo)
