Yep, it looks a bit better when you stir it up and such and put the olive oil on. It does have the same appeal of eating raw fish wrapped in seaweed :P
I hear plenty rave about sushi, how about some delicious steak tar-tar. You can very easily make this at home with some experience and most importantly the proper ingredients. Imo it's a thousand times better.
What the hell is that? Looks like shit.
Some kind of raw fish with egg I suppose. I love sushi-.
It's a fucking steak tar-tar one of the most delicious meals on earth.
It's a fucking steak tar-tar one of the most delicious meals on earth.
I only know it from the Mr Bean episode. No seriously, it's rather delicious but I like sushi more.
You make sloppy sushi.
Steak tar-tar is awesome is small amounts. I once went to this place that gave me a shitload of it, now that was disgusting. The meat feels too rich after a few bites.
You ever heard of Spam Musubi? AWESOME. You should definetly try this.
Rule 34 - No exceptions D:
For the Op', its best to suggest finding sushi quality meats, as many even though they look good, havnt been checked for parasites and other things that could be pretty bad. If there are any doubts to the quality of meat, its defenatly Not suggested to eat it raw.

Amazing thread
How are wild fish likely to have parasites that frozen or farm raised? If anything, I would think it to be the opposite.
You're right. It is the opposite.
A study in Seattle, Washington showed that all wild salmon had roundworm larvae capable of infecting people, while farm-raised salmon did not have any roundworm larvae. Freezing is often used to kill parasites.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sashimi#Safety_notes EDIT While farmed fish is less likely to have parasites, it's more likely to be pumped full of antibiotics.
According to the David Suzuki Foundation, Farmed Atlantic salmon can be dangerous to eat: “In an attempt to control disease and parasites among farmed salmon, powerful antibiotics and other drugs are dumped directly into open netcages. This largely unregulated use of antibiotics—the same drugs used to treat human infections—has already led to the development of drug-resistant "super-bugs". This poses grave risks not only to the wider marine ecosystem, but also to fish farm workers and to consumers of farmed salmon who may be affected by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. For more information, visit the David Suzuki Foundation’s website at davidsuzuki.org
http://www.wildpacificsalmon.com/site/680079/page/435883 So actually, the best type of salmon is wild salmon that is frozen at sea.
Sorry guys this is white people sushi. Sort of.
I got my california rolls. They were glorious. :crying:
I plan on getting the little orange fish eggs, and fresh tuna for next time. Do you guys have any other suggestions for what I could use? I think I might start making myself some for lunch during the school year, they're very filling and only like 150 calories for the entire roll. Any suggestions (with the exception of sweet things such as cream cheese and stuff) are welcome. I really enjoyed my sushi making experience, I hope you get the chance to make your own sushi too!
You mean caviar? God damn it man. do it!
Seriously raw beef ew
seriously raw fish? I'm surprised you ever tried sushi with that sort of mentality.
Sushi kicks ass.
seriously raw fish? I'm surprised you ever tried sushi with that sort of mentality.
I've never even heard of eating raw beef until now :byodood: Oh well. I guess I'll try n' find it somewhere.
I've never even heard of eating raw beef until now :byodood: Oh well. I guess I'll try n' find it somewhere.
I wouldn't recommend buying it prepared, as I myself don't like the prepared stuff. Its only good when you make it yourself (right) and/or you go to a real fancy restaurant. the beef chopped pickles and onions salt and pepper egg olive oil small amount of maggi sauce (optional) mix it all together and squeeze some lemon juice on top
Can someone describe the taste of seaweed? I'm fine with the fish and veggies but the idea of eating seaweed is a bit sickening.
It's tastes like what the ocean smells like, combined with lettuce. best way I can describe it. It's dry, so the texture isn't slimey or anything. You don't taste it too much in the sushi.
Seriously raw beef ew
You must be american. You see , American quality of meat is not so great as German quality. In germany you can actually trust most raw meat to be safe! exept for of course chicken and pork. In america I wouldn't dare try and eat raw beef, ever seen how dirty the meat processing plants are? X_X. its not pretty
I'm an American and there are certainly places to get ahold of nice meat for tartares. I would imagine you guys in general would have a much easier time finding suitable meat though
Seriously raw beef ew
If you think that's bad, some steak tartare preparations use horse meat.
