No, they are completely exaggerating. OMG WEBCAMS IN PUBLIC PLACES!!! NOW THEY CAN SEE WHAT I DID WHEN EVERYBODY WAS LOOKING!!! About the computer stuff: They can't look through your files if you don't run some kind of Government OS. Windows and especially Linux don't allow random strangers to look through your files. They would have to install malware on every single fucking PC in Germany. If they did this there would be an a removal tool in a matter of days. They only install it on a person's PC when they think he could be involved in something like a terrorist attack.
You seem not to get the point. There were tasks initiated to establish laws to give the government and special institutions the right to get every data of you if they want. E.g. by breaking into your house, making a copy of your harddisk. Luckily I have all my PCs encrypted so no idiot can get on my data. But this does not fix the issue with logging all internet-activities or call-histories. (I know, encrypted proxies.. but they are SLOW). Anyway, with this shit, privacy in Germany breaks down.
aVoN you're german?? Btw there still some internet providers who don't log your activities, e.g. http://www.manitu.de/ Well it still sucks that politicans use the ignorance of many people to get votes, I guess we just have to wait until the old conservative fuckers die
Shut the fuck up, retard. You seem to have no freaking idea of what a nazi is and calling us Germans nazis in general means you are reacist. And this makes you more a nazi than we are. (We fight antisemitismn and racism more than any other country does - because of our dark history).
Stereotypen sind lustig, get over it.

[editline]04:48PM[/editline] Also I am a timetraveller from 1942 I was not aware that Germany had changed regimes in the last seventy years. [editline]04:49PM[/editline] What is this internet thing anyway I do not understand how it works because we hadnt discovered electricity in my time
Uh.. Is this video a joke or what? I just asked a simple question
Same thing is happening here in Sweden with the FRA and IPRED laws, but it seems Germany is a bit ahead of us at keeping us "safe".
So, is this video against or is it promoting they spying?
So, is this video against or is it promoting they spying?
Against!
I don't really see a problem with the government seeing what I do for two simple reasons: First: I don't have anything to hide, so unless you are a criminal (pedo or software pirate for example) you don't really have any reasons to care if they see your stuff. Second: With all the people in a country (especially in Germany) they won't look through your family photos, read all your e-mails or steal your essay for school, they don't give a shit so unless you are a wanted criminal (and your computer could contain proof or links to other criminals) they won't check through your computer.

You don't care if all your text messages are saved for 6 month? Or who you called and where? What if someone would just go into your room and look trough your stuff, or private stuff, I think you would care about that.
So you don't see your privacy disrupted by the fact that someone can download everything from your pc or even upload anything? Only if that someone was going to upload malware to my PC, otherwise no I wouldn't care if they download family photos from my PC, I don't really see why I should care (unless of course I have something to hide in those family photos, but I don't). The only case it would bother me would be if they slowed down my internet because of their stuff. You don't care if all your text messages are saved for 6 month? Not really no, because no-one is going to look through them (they have no reasons to), and even if they did, well have fun reading pages of un-interesting stuff (at least un-interesting to them). Or who you called and where? Nope, yeah I called my friend who lives in Stockholm at 1AM, and you know it because you keep track of it, big deal. It's not a secret or anything to be ashamed of that you called someone somewhere, unless there is something to hide of course (like if you tell your friends "Guess what guys, I illegaly downloaded 5 games yesterday! Am I cool?" over the phone). What if someone would just go into your room and look trough your stuff, or private stuff, I think you would care about that. Again they have no reason to, but if they had (like me being suspected of something) then I'd gladly let them check through my entire house, they won't find anything I'd want to hide. Even if they did not have any reason and just had a planned control of my house it wouldn't be a problem, as long as they don't damage anything of course (this goes for the computer too).
Honestly I would only care if my personal information was made public, but that isn't the case since only the police would be checking through it anyways.
Honestly I would only care if my personal information was made public, but that isn't the case since only the police would be checking through it anyways.
Honestly, you're fucking stupid.
Honestly, you're fucking stupid.
Honestly, that isn't a very good counter-argument.
Might as well have men dressed as Gestapo officers going around shouting in German, "SHOW US YOUR PAPERS!", in trains, buses, aeroplanes etc.

Bye bye, civil disobedience. You want to change that law? Oops, too bad, you can't, because you are in prison.
And what if you DO have something to hide? Bye bye, civil disobedience. You want to change that law? Oops, too bad, you can't, because you are in prison.
Well the only thing one would want to hide is criminal stuff (child porn, illegal documents or proofs of criminal acts for example). Unless of course the government one day decides that things they don't like are illegal (and therefore starting to censor and jail people just because they own something that disagrees with them), but in that case it's not the tool (the controls over communications and internet) that is the problem, but the one who wields the tool (the government). So this only becomes something to fear if the government turns into a dictatorship. As long as it's a good government (in which a person has freedom of expression within reason) a honest citizen has nothing to fear.
They already do decide things they don't like are illegal. If you are tied to your dealer through the internet you go to prison. [editline]02:48PM[/editline] There is no such thing as a good government [editline]02:48PM[/editline] You don't give government a power under the pretense that they will use it responsibly. [editline]02:48PM[/editline] That's why you require warrants to do these things to begin with. FYI the government can get a warrant to search your shit if they can actually prove to a judge you are in bed with criminals. That's precisely the way it should be. Warrantless searches are illegal and a very dangerous precedent.

And I don't know if good governments exist or not, but there are definately some that are better and some that are worse.
