i'm fairly sure that's more about editing and knowing what you're doing than the camera...
Yeah, anyone who thinks that's off camera footage is a little silly :D
lumix video is shite - learnt from experience [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] 550D video is stellar
i'm fairly sure that's more about editing and knowing what you're doing than the camera...
My point was that Nikon doesn't have a sub $3000 fullframe HDSLR. Canon has had one for almost 3 years now. [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] I'm not trying to start a fanboy war, just stating facts.
fuckin WHITEKNIGHTING CANON [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] CANON FLEEEETO [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] get a canon or ill put you on my ignore list

I bought a Canon 600d Am I camera now? Get dumb from sarcasm = profit
I bought a Canon 600d Am I camera now?
no, but you are out of pocket
Need some help guys, I'm getting a camera and it's down to a Nikon D31001855 and a Canon EOS 100DDC Kit. Both seem perfectly fine to start shooting with, and suit my price class pretty alright. Which one should a guy looking to get into photography get?
wtf [editline]30th June 2011[/editline] do you mean a nikon D3100 with 18-55mm lens and a 1000D with 18-55mm lens?
Probably, I got a note from the sales guy and that's what it said :v:
Read about photography before going balls deep into the buying market.
or do what isaac wants and buy a 30 year old film camera from a country which doesn't exist anymore
or do what isaac wants and buy a 30 year old film camera from a country which doesn't exist anymore
It's viable, I have one from West Germany.
I can get this camera for 3000 DKK (converting to around 500$), and I would like to know whether you guys would know a better solution for me. I want to take pictures, and I feel very limited with a cell phone. I like to take photos though, and I don't mean photos of my friends and such. I read the thread about film vs DSLR, and I would also know a "definitive" answer to that (though I probably won't get it).
is $500 not a bit much for a used 450D?
is $500 not a bit much for a used 450D?
I'm asking because I honestly don't have a clue. Things tend to be more expensive in Denmark, though, so take the price with some extra salt.
Are you in a position to haggle? You might be able to get it for a bit cheaper than that, but I really don't know the value of Canons so I can't give you any decent estimates.

here's the photos I've taken with mine, the camera certainly hasn't been a limiting factor by any means. The only thing I don't like is the shutter sound. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhaslehurst/sets/72157625898166189/

r-click on the photo Although all the full resolution images prove is a) my scanning ability and b) the quality of the film. A SLR body really has sweet fuck all to do with your image quality, it just has to feel nice in the hands and be intuitive to use, which for me, it is.

Anyway, I'm looking at a DLSR, but they seem to be taken with alot of different ones, could you point me to those taken specifically with this one? Disregard, I'm jerking around. I'm tired. And now I'm confused, are these taken with film or digitally? http://www.flickr.com/photos/jhaslehurst/sets/72157625898166189/
the DSLR set has photos taken with a bunch of Canon DSLR's, the 400D, 1000D, 450D, 500D, 550D, 600D & 7D All of the digital gear I use is borrowed either from school or from friends. The film stuff is taken with either a: Pentax Me Super, Canon AE-1P, Pentax Z-70, Yashica Elctro 35 GSN, Olympus XA or Mamiya C22. [editline]8th July 2011[/editline] wait fuck, I thought you were talking about the AE-1, that must have been in a different thread :/ Disregard all of my posts, they're irrelevant.

the AE-1 is a Canon film camera, I wouldn't really call it the film version though.
As someone who's interested in photography, I'd like to get a DSLR. Problem is, I don't have a lot of dosh. I'm not looking for a WORLD CHANGING SUPER CAMERA or anything, just a basic DSLR, anything that's anupgrade from a Point and Shoot. What's the best I could get for around £200? Very low price, I know.
At that price your best bet is probably to go film or keep saving. You might be able to find a good deal somewhere on an old used DSLR, but it's a slim chance, I think.

A 1000D is a HUGE upgrade, despite being a little old these days, it's a fantastic DSLR. However, if you have a bit of a passion for photography then I'd suggest buying a film SLR instead if you have a Boots or other store that'll process for you (Boots does film to CD for £2). You can buy a good quality body and lens for anything between £40 to £150 that'll rival a lot of entry level DSLRs (Or for £150, beat it easily) in terms of picture quality. A film camera is a great tool for learning, and will help you get to understand the principles of photography that'll make a big investment on a DSLR that much easier to handle. It's merely an idea, of course, but a lot of people here would also say it's a wise one, since it'll work out cheaper than a DSLR; especially when you don't have a huge budget. Of course, going straight to that 1000D I mentioned wouldn't be a bad idea either as long as you don't mind not having video, as it's a very well regarded camera. Just my two cents.
