So the last camera i posted sold for a bit higher then I liked. So I need your thoughts on this- http://www.ebay.com/itm/PENTAX-ME-SUPER-CAMERA-SMC-1-2-50MM-LENS-2-MORE-/220836260258?pt=Film_Cameras&hash=item336adde9a2#ht_561wt_922 I don't know if they're crap lens and whatnot so I would like some input.
*bump* Anyone? School's coming up and I don't know how good this glass is.
I have 50 1.8D and 35 1.8G for my D7000, there's a perfect world of difference. Keep the 35 on it most of the time, it's the equiv to 50 on a fullframe and you know how much people rave about 50's being the perfect view for keepin' on your camera. Maybe that 5mm feels like it'd be worth the extra chunk of change for you, but I think for the price the 35 makes the whole package much better in comparison. I remember Kai from digital rev mention the 35's bokeh was as smooth as sandpaper, but hell if I can tell that.
Hmmm, thanks for the reply but the listing just ended. Back to my search. Found one, doesn't seem like a terrible deal. So it's a PENTAX ME Super body, SMC PENTAX-M 1:2 50mm, ROKINON MC AUTO TELE ZOOM MACRO 1:45 80-200mm, camera case and lens case(for 80-200mm), instructions, polarizing filter and 'photo battery'. It's $69.99. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PENTAX-ME-SUPER-CAMERA-SMC-50mm-LENS-EXTRAS-/230655429378?pt=Film_Cameras&hash=item35b4228b02#ht_500wt_969

If you already checked your local stores for used cameras and couldn't find something better or the same for cheap then go ahead it's a fairly good deal.
I would go for it.
Hello, hello. I'm thinking of getting a DSLR for my birthday, and I presume that the budget is around 750$ (not sure though). I have been working with photography for about 1-2 years analyzing, taking pictures with a shitty compact camera and with a 1000D during my school's photography course. I'm passionate about it, and will continue with photography for years to come (taking three additional courses in photography and three in film/movies). Any suggestions?
Does that 750$ include glass too? Since you have experience with Canon SLR's, you might want to get a midrange SLR and the hallowed Canon 50mm 1.8. As a Nikon owner I'm not an expert on Canon SLR's but my uninformed opinion would be something like a T2i body and 50mm 1.8 combo. That might even leave you some spare cash, which would be tempting to spend on a cheap lens or a T2i with a kit lens but if I was getting my first DSLR again, I would start with a prime lens and nothing else and just work with that all the time to start with. But that's up to you. I'd wait for a couple of Canon owners to post first before taking my uninformed opinion though :v:

I've been doing photography for around 2-3 years now and I'm looking to upgrade my 450D. However, I'm torn between 60D/7D and 5D mark II. I really like doing landscape and night photography so the 5D would be better suited for that. Also the full frame sensor would be useful when shooting hdri with a fisheye for 3d. Then again it's 2000€. 60D and 7D are cheaper, but better suited, if I've read correctly, for wildlife and sports photography. There's not much reason upgrading to a body I'll need to upgrade again soon. Do you guys have any opinion on the matter?

The cameras you mentioned are all pretty aged, I would wait and see what comes out next. But that's just me.

Lower resolution is probably the only discouraging aspect, the only really prominent changes are video and resolution between 5d and 5dmkII. they both even use the same AF module

There's a massive jump from regular camcorder to DSLR in terms of video quality and cinematic control, but I think with cameras you can get good results with a point and shoot that has manual focus
I've been thinking of buying another lens: Canon EF Lens - 50 mm - F/1.8 - Canon EF They're pretty cheap, and I only have a kit lens. Anyone ever used these? I just thought I should have more than a kit lens, but I don't want to buy a lens that I'll rarely use.
it's a 50mm f1.8 it kicks fucking ass
I was trying my friend's 50mm 1.8 Nikon lens today, and I really loved it compared to the 18-55mm kit lens I have currently
canon and nikon have never made a bad 50mm f1.8 lens they are all super sharp, and have excellent bokeh.
It's so damned tempting for that price!
dude as soon as i got one i hardly ever stopped using it. i'm sure your kit lens is better for macro, but that's really about it.
What kind of pictures have you taken with them?
This is my favorite picture I've taken with my 1.8 It's from awhile ago though as I have long since traded up for a 50 1.4. Everyone should own a 50 1.8 at one point or another.
Alright, thanks guys!
Alright, thanks guys! I read on canonrumors.com that the Mark III might be announced in October, so I'll wait for that and then see what I'm going to do.
Alright, thanks guys!

Alright, thanks guys!
what are the chances of that?
heh, I hadn't even noticed it.

i'd get a 1.4 if i felt it was worth it, might just sell my 50mm 1.8 and get a 30mm
