[QUOTE=communistcat;33038740]I was wondering if someone culd help me find a decent DSLR that you can get M42 adapter. The main thing is I would like the camera to feel well made, more metal (like a Zenit) and I don't have much money I will say about £300.[/QUOTE] I'm not sure if something like that exists... Atleast, not digitally.
[QUOTE=DoubleDD;33038862]I'm not sure if something like that exists... Atleast, not digitally.[/QUOTE] I was hoping there would be as all the DSLRs I looked at all seem cheaply made and plasticky.
try build an NEX into a zenit body
I have a question - why has the 5D II got a full frame sensor but not the 1D IV?
because the 1D IV was a designed as a sports journo camera, the 1.3x was basically a free teleconverter [editline]30th October 2011[/editline] and prolly to get faster processing out it [editline]30th October 2011[/editline] the 1Ds line was FF

So with that budget you could get one of Canon's first generation flagship DSLRS. Or you could just look up ''weather sealing'' and ''magnesium alloy body''.
used 30D

Wait, Killerelf just reminded me: You can get a Pentax K20d/k10d and it could fit your budget. Both are well built, sturdy and feel weighty, while at the same time being smaller than regular DSLRs. They are old, but not old enough to have an impact on performance. From what I understand you like the metal build of old cameras, so you could just get old Pentax lenses and an adapter for m42 and live happily.
I'm looking to save up a fair bit of cash for something capable of recording excellent quality video. Where would I start? Would I just skip camcorders altogether and buy a Rebel? Looking for something that could record in 60p, with good quality. Budget is anywhere between $300 - $800. I'm not a big photography guy so talk slow in small words.
are you looking for 720p or 1080p? pretty sure the nex 5n is now the cheapest camera to do 1080 at 60p (at $650 with a 16mm lens, $600 body only) with full manual controls, but don't quote me on that one. Most people here rave about the video quality Canon cameras, so there is a great place to look as well.
My girlfriend is currently finding a dslr and she asked if a T3I with an 8gb memory card, 75-300mm lens, and just your normal kit lens for $640 is a good deal? I thought it was a good deal, I just want your opinions on it as well.
those things pop up around $760-800 on amazon, are you sure it's not just a Rebel t3?
She told me it's a t3i
[QUOTE=Trogdon;33064713]those things pop up around $760-800 on amazon, are you sure it's not just a Rebel t3?[/QUOTE] [del]a t3 wouldn't come with a memory card.[/del] nevermind, was thinking of the rebel Ti. disregard post
if it's a t3i then yeah that's a great deal.
It's a bundle pack.
Don't know if it counts as photography... but I might be getting the HD Hero 2 for my birthday.

I'm leaving for IET on 4 Jan 2012. I get back 15 May 2012 $7200 richer. At the top of my list of things to buy is a new DSLR, a set of batteries for my dad's old one, and a lot of film for the old one. Sam's Club was selling a few the other day, I'm going to check to see if they still are in May.

I was originally looking at the 550D. Then I saw the 600D wasn't much more expensive, but now I'm just waiting for the 650D to see what it's going to be like.
Speaking from experience now, the D5100 is an amazing amateur DSLR. I definitely recommend it.
canon master race
Starting to regret buying the 1100D since you really grow out of it fast. Trying to save up for a 60D for now..

A 1000d paired with a good lens is just as capable as a 60D in the vast majority of situations.

agree to the death [editline]1st November 2011[/editline] i think i need good, large aperture glass to get the best out my 1000D, tbh, it's excellent until it gets dark
