American laws are based off of the Judeo-Christian 10 commandments, thats as close to being founded on it as I can see.

They set the United States up to be made, that's pretty direct.
What set it up doesn't really matter.
You slept through history class yep
You slept through it if you believe that the US was founded on Christian values. The "10 commandments" are direct copies/evolutions of "the Code of Hamurabi" not christian. They are not christian values anymore so than they are just normal values.
The US had at least 10 of the 44 signing members that were atheists, diest, or extremely secular, not to mention, just about all the signers were in fact secularist.

so?
I never though you can get this so far

American laws are based on reason and general ethics and morality, you don't need the Ten Commandments to formulate laws such as that killing is bad. However, since the time that the nation was founded, Christianity has had an influence on the lawmakers.
That is both negative and positive. You could say that Christianity influenced the horrible slavery laws.
The Ten Commandments don't have a direct role in the foundation of the country.
hey set the United States up to be made, that's pretty direct.
The pilgrims came to america to escape religious intolerance, not with the goal of establishing an independent nation, which wasn't even a major idea until the mid 1700's when "pilgrims" ceases to be relevant.

America was founded because they were sick of King George III. They felt that there was no reason to be ruled by a person that was far away from them, especially if the Tea Act ruined businesses.

Guess what religion funded the standards of "morals"
Guess what religion funded the standards of "morals"
Guess how many religions are thousands of years older than Christianity that set up the standards of morals from which Christianity borrowed from?
HumanAbyss, Agoat was trying to make a point that you should provide evidence for claims that you make. I provided the necessary evidence on page two, to which he accepted. I do not believe he was necessarily disagreeing with me, just that he thought I needed to provide evidence towards my point.
You are right, is not frowned upon
Uh, it's not `frowned upon`. You can get thrown in jail, life in prison, and sometimes execution.
I thought it would be funny to post a picture of the guy who thinks that Obama is worse than Hitler

Erm. The point of this thread was to simply agree to the fact the the USA was not founded under god, which it isn't, it's the world turning point that brought the world free religion.

The same people who don't care about anything but Christianity are the same that make the farce claims that the U.S. was founded on Christianity.
Both of those assumptions are stupid.
