I have a friend who makes Warcraft III maps and he does it the Valve way. Every time we find a weapon is too powerful he goes and makes another super weapon to counter it, eventually the whole game revolves around finding as quickly as possible the latest super weapons before everyone else does and the previous super weapons are like BB guns now because they are so ineffective
