If the graphics and layout was at least of Victoria 1 standards (Which had no tutorial, everything had to be micromanaged, had no manual, and graphics from 1995) then I could probably figure out how to play it.

It's a case of whether you can stomach games such as Nethack or Dwarf Fortress or not. I tried DF once and then again a year later. It took that second try to actually get into it. Once you get past the clutter and system, it's pretty entertaining. (My avatar used to be a nobledwarf. :D )

I downloaded Dwarf Fortress after reading stories like that but I can't get around the interface. I've never played a roguelike and just can't get into it.
