I have.
Incredibly entertaining if you have a badass English teacher explaining all the 'hidden meanings' and explaining everything.
Like, the writing is bland as hell, but the plot itself is really good, especially once you understand how so much of it allegorical to sex and a big "fuck you" to the society of the time in some way.

I have, one of my favorite monster books. The writing is nothing spectacular, because it's not meant to be. It's a good horror book with sufficient detail and a great plot.
