This method is actually decent. On the plus side it means I'm not wasting much bandwidth if I decide to pause the movie and turn it off. It also means I haven't wasted shitloads of bandwidth if my power cuts out.
But on the downside if I could preload full movies like this, I could preload a bunch of movies fully during my unlimited bandwidth hours (midnight - 8AM) and then watch them throughout the day on my limited bandwidth times.

Wow... just wow... You do realize there is currently no such thing as faultless sustainable electricity, right? Just because you haven't had a power cut in a long time doesn't mean they don't exist.
And power cuts are a very viable reason.
And for the record many houses in the UK still run on old electric meters, where you need to top-up a key, which you then insert into the meter in your home to add currency to your electric. If you fail to top-up the electric meter then it simply cuts your power until you do top-up again. It's not a fault-based power cut, but it's a power cut all the same.
As a further bit of information (albeit probably pointless for you to know) people with such meters have an endless supply of electricity between 9PM and 9AM (closing time for the average convenience story which sells such top-ups). So during those time your electric currency balance can fall into the negatives but your electric supply will remain on until 9AM.

If you're going with pigment, like skin pigment, black is the sum of all colors, while white is none.
