That's really a stupid complaint when you think about it.
They "stole" the content ? What ? Most of those comics were made with memegenerator.net or equivalents, none were signed by their original creators, and even the original creators don't have much to brag about, it's just on pictures which are owned by Warner Bros.
9gag is just a website where people upload stuff they find funny and laugh about it. They add an additional watermark on the picture to tell you where to find more of the same content, they don't claim the property of the entire thing.

It's from Tribes, and Tribes Ascend isn't out of beta yet, it's going to be around for a while.
Tribes is steadily getting more and more popular, especially on 4chan.
