Even so, r/funny make up a huge potion of Reddit and is one of the most popular subreddits. Even if further, the fact that the political/religion subreddits are even more of a circle jerk than most political/religion forums/thread/ect., the amount of general shit posting in some of the moderately popular subreddits, and any good subreddits get either a decent or little amount of traffic. Have you taken into account that the post with most upvotes are on the front page (assuming you've subscribed to them)? This literally turn Reddit into a war for who can get the most upvotes and is about as abused as the Facebook "Like" system.
