Franklin proposed a prayer to start off the Constitutional Convention each day.
He was hardly and atheist.
The breakup of the Founders was pretty much 1/3 deist, 1/3 Mason/minority Christian, and 1/3 majority Christian. There were skeptics, but I don't think there was a real atheist out of the bunch.
