Also if you have insomnia try taking Fish Oil pills 3 times a day for a couple of months and see if that helps. Omega 3 deficiencies can cause insomnia. Especially those with autism spectrum disorders or dyspraxia/ or just people who don't absorb Omega 3s very well. It should also help with early morning awakenings.
I used to have horrible insomnia where I would only be able to sleep every second night, I got sick all the time because of it. It's gotten more managable now, but I still only sleep about 4 hours a night.
I can relate, had the same thing for the past 2 months, 2 days on then 12 hours sleep and the timer resets. It can be useful but the issue lies in that there are 7 days to a week obviously and therefore, certain weeks it is a plus when others it is a negative due to my timetable.
I have farily bad insomnia. I have only slept for a total of 8 hours over the past week, and those have not been restful hours. I work out fairly regularly, and eat fine, nothing works.
I haven't been sleeping for shit lately(not necessarily insomnia, but i wouldn't be shocked) and i have felt a bit dream like lately. I was/am worried a bit that i may have some brain disease or something.
I would say I have extreme, high up in the chain of scale you can measure maybe a 8/10, but mine is basically life long, ive had it for 5 years, almost 6 now, and my moms had it her whole life! and her dad too again, Im just going to have to accept its a life long thing, and learn how to keep it at bay. Also sleeping pills, are a god send... Epically the blue melatonin ones. I chose to stay in the matrix!
When I get insomnia I get a bit delusional and have crazy thoughts. It's so fucking frequent in summer because the heat keeps me awake.
Title is a paradox lol. Also, insomnia sucks. I don't have it, but I know people who do and it affects them dearly.
When I get insomnia I get a bit delusional and have crazy thoughts. It's so fucking frequent in summer because the heat keeps me awake.
eh same for me, but its because the lack of school, the lack of something to do. I live in the country and no ones around or nothing to do.
I remember when I was sick last year and ran on just two hours of sleep a night. The final day I felt amazingly calm. Everything around me seemed to flow. It was amazing.
It's not great. It's fucking anything but that. If you think have Insomnia then you obviously don't. I have Insomnia, it runs in my family, and let me tell you nothing about it is great. Yes, it sometimes feels good when you sleep, however half the time when you sleep you're restless, and wake up in the middle of the night multiple times. The stress and tiredness and sometimes depression it can lead to greatly out way that few times you get a decent nights sleep. I've had this for about four years now, and its the most annoying condition/disorder ever. I spend night upon night lying in bed, eyes closed, mind cleared, and yet no sleep, what-so-ever, and then that leads to stress due to the fact I know I have school or something in the morning. The night before my birthday this year? I got no sleep. At all. It was horrible. The first day of school? No sleep. And tomorrow is my first day doing work experience, and guess what? Half four in the morning right now and I can't sleep. Heck, I have my pick-up pill ready for the morning when I have to leave. And I get that about four/five/six times a week. Oh yeah, and sleeping pills and barbiturates don't work on me at all.
Chew malarian root and do more excercise
I've never had Insomnia, and as good as the effects stated in the OP can be I really don't want to suffer from the bad effects.
Insomnia isn't a disorder dumbshits, its a symptom. You idiots should do some research before self diagnosing yourselves.
Do i get to have the shit beaten out of me by brad pitt?
Taking cyanide pills can put you to sleep too.
ITT: kids who stay up to late on the computer and blame it on insomnia
ITT: kids who stay up to late on the computer and blame it on insomnia
ITP: Kid who assumes he knows everything.
Hardly, everyone here is saying they have a disease, when insomnia isn't a disease.
Hardly, everyone here is saying they have a disease, when insomnia isn't a disease.
Who said it was a disease? It is however a Condition and it's possible to have it. Easily.
Basically, Insomnia is a sleeping disorder. It is different for every person it happens to, and the results are extremely negative.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disorder_%28medicine%29
A disease or medical condition is an abnormal condition of an organism that impairs bodily functions, associated with specific symptoms and signs.[1][2][3] It may be caused by external factors, such as invading organisms, or it may be caused by internal dysfunctions, such as autoimmune diseases.
[editline]04:14AM[/editline] Do your homework, http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1187829-overview#target10
Despite inadequate sleep, many patients with insomnia do not complain of excessive daytime sleepiness, such as involuntary episodes of drowsiness in boring, monotonous, nonstimulating situations.
From OP
Anxiety, tiredness, stress, inability to function at times, you want to sleep, but you can't sleep, and shit like that. Having all these symptoms make you feel like shit, and its an absolute bitch at times.
These 2 statements don't agree with each other. [editline]04:18AM[/editline] Back to what I was saying, ITT: Kids who stay up to late, fuck up there sleep schedule and blame it on insomnia
Mr.affinity stop being a dick, most the people in this thread have insomnia, and don't want to deal with your bitching.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disorder_%28medicine%29 [editline]04:14AM[/editline] Do your homework, http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1187829-overview#target10 From OP These 2 statements don't agree with each other. [editline]04:18AM[/editline] Back to what I was saying, ITT: Kids who stay up to late, fuck up there sleep schedule and blame it on insomnia
You shouldn't generalise though, I'm as pissed as you at the OP's bullshit but you shouldn't assume that there isn't someone here who just watched Fight Club and though Insomnia was cool.
Its not fun peroid, and even the slightest upsides, are not worth it. it fucks with you mentally and physically and can change your over all attitude.
I have days where it takes me 3-4 hours to fall asleep. Shit fucking sucks. I can't turn off my brain at night, I'm constantly playing out weird scenarios in my head about different shit :(
Ugh I have this too but not insomnia. Are they really annoying thoughts? Like they are so unimportant that they annoy you? It would be nice to know what that is and what causes it.
Actually most Insomnia cases are caused by lack of exercise. If an insomniac were to bike ride 20+ miles everyday, he would have an easy time falling asleep. Exercise also calms you down. [editline]08:43PM[/editline] You may feel like shit while you are exercising if you are in insomniac, but when you are done you feel soooo good.
It all makes sense to me now.
You shouldn't generalise though, I'm as pissed as you as the OP's bullshit but you shouldn't assume that there isn't someone here who just watched Fight Club and though Insomnia was cool.
Why would you ever think Insomnia would be cool just because you saw it in Fight Club? I just watched Waltz with Bashir, a movie about the negative effects of war on people, and I didn't think I would want to go to a war because it would be "cool". That's just ridiculous.
Mr.affinity stop being a dick, most the people in this thread have insomnia, and don't want to deal with your bitching.
Oh I'm sorry did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed... oh wait.
You shouldn't generalise though, I'm as pissed as you at the OP's bullshit but you shouldn't assume that there isn't someone here who just watched Fight Club and thought Insomnia was cool.
Yes but in a community built around gamers this is the most common generalization, if you have an actual disorder that causes insomnia then I apologize, but everyone else get off the computer and goto bed.
Why would you ever think Insomnia would be cool just because you saw it in Fight Club?
Read the thread title, he describes Insomnia as "great", how could you think a symptom of a disorder is great? You would be surprised as how far idiots will go.
I started gaming when I was 13-14. long after I had insomnia, I had it when I would run 2 laps a day, I had a hard time sleep after being awake for 24 hours, its no joke affinity.
ITT: kids who stay up to late on the computer and blame it on insomnia
I stay up late on my laptop because I know I can't sleep. I've been diagnosed of Insomnia by my GP, and it runs in my family. So, yeah. Also I can't do exercise, I'm really physically weak (most likely due to the fact I might have anemia, if not, then I'm just plain physically weak- not unfit, but my strength is only enough to kill insects.) and running for 30 seconds to one minute literally gets me so out of breath running becomes hard.
Take a lot of ambien and force yourself to stay awake
I've done this before. You're basically drunk.
