If you stated your country it would be easier to make suggestions.

Depending on what state your in you'll need to get a workers permit. It's pretty simple;you just print out a paper and get it signed by yourself, your parents, your school, and an employer. But finding an employer is going to be a challenge. I recommend doing community service or interning at somewhere you like until you know what you're doing and then seeing if they'll hire you as an employ.
And protip:never ask Facepunch about anything you want a serious answer to.
Paper route, you can make quite a bit depending on where you live.
My physics teacher did a morning paper route still for a few years after he finished uni and started working as a teacher.

uh you still watch anime pony shows and you're 13

Wise yet, hypocritical words from a weaboo.
A job at 14? Good luck.
I started working when I was 14, but it took me quite awhile to find a job. Most places want you to be 15 or 16.
What kind of job do you even want to get?
Don't try applying at bigger companies, but go for small local businesses. They are way more likely to hire you.

Wow ninja.
I'm seventeen, and everywhere around here has one common requirement. The first thing on the application, regardless where you apply, is always always that you have to be at least 18 years of age.
Also, don't believe that worker's permit crap. In my state, you can work at any time after you're 14. There is no official government worker's permit. However, because the officials at my school have small penises, you have to buy a school worker's permit, which is in no way official or required to get a job. If the school finds out you have a job without a permit, they just charge you more money, because it's all they legally can do.
Why are you expecting this kid to "have the best time of his years" he's fourteen, and browsing facepunch, he probably wants a job so he can have an excuse to do something rather then play video games.
(ps he probably doesn't have many friends if any)
Your avatar made me think you were the OP talking in a 3rd person.
You need connections maybe your friends dad owns a company or is a manager there? most likely you can get a simple job there
I'm 17 and having problems finding a job, which is difficult because if I decide not to go to uni it might be a while untill I actually get a job.
If OP get's a job I'm going to be pissed. I'm 17, I have a full ECDL exam and I know how to handle SQL databases. I couldn't find a normal office job.
My friend (he's 17 too) actually got a job in an office, he can only type with 1 finger. :saddowns:
What Walmart have you been to that doesn't sell beer?
I don't think they do anywhere in Canada
Not Saskatchewan or Manitoba, anyway.
I disagree with the people saying its impossible to get a job at 14, I worked at a theme park when I was 14. Even if you can't find a real job, there are plenty of small businesses out there who will hire kids your age for an under the table job. Just look around and ask...

I live in Australia and work for my school doing websites and the odd programs. I also do freelance web development for some local businesses. Go get the newspaper and look in the classifieds. If you can't get a part-time job just do stuff like mowing peoples lawns.

I'm 13 btw.
Grocery stores can hire under 18. I have a few cashiers at my Kroger that are under 16-17. They just can't handle/scan out alcohol so they have to call someone over that's an adult to do it.
The only jobs I can see you getting is as follows -
A - Paper Round
B - Mowing people's lawns and cleaning their cars
C - Underage Prostitute
But seriously, I'm 17 and have been looking for a serious job for a good 5 months now. Still no luck.
Option C didn't work out to great either. :geno:
